This is one of my favorite games of all time. A really unique extraction shooter.
The setting and the lore is awesome.
The graphics, the sound and the music- incredible.
The gameplay is fun and exciting.

BUT, and this is a really big but.
Since the 1896 update and the engine upgrade i feel somewhat disheartened / disappointed about the game.
Don`t get me wrong , there is a lot of great stuff (new map,reworked old map, graphics, sound and some reworked mechanics). But that makes the bad stuff even worse.

- Graphics upgrade- bad performance, graphical glitches, stuttering and the had to remove skins because of shading issues (they fixed it but still, what an oversight).
- New UI - really bad design, confusing and not even everything is here yet ( Hunter lore, weapon lore, monster lore). This was clearly rushed.
-Engine Upgrade- i thought this would make it easier for the devs to fix bugs and get rid of some problems that plague this game since forever (server issues, rubberbanding, trade window, crashes etc.). Well, no. Every update/ hotfix something breaks ( Mouscursor Bug). might not be game breaking but it is annoying.
-Upcoming addition of CROSSOVERS ( GHOST FACE)- WTF!? I thought this was a joke, honestly. I hope this is a on time thing .

Hunt Showdown 1869 is a great and most of all, unique game. It is great because it`s not like all the others, who want to be the next CoD or Fortnite. It should play to its strengths. Lets hope that Crytek understands that.

For now, i am giving it a thumbs down.
