Still highly recommend.

This is probably the weakest FO game in terms of writing, but everything else is done so much better. The crafting is not as tedious as it was in FNV nor is it limited, it has been expanded on tremendously. Mods for armor and weapons are plentiful and the new system for it is a welcome change in the right direction. The settlement building is wonky, but I like the vision and hope to see improvements on the system and hopefully a step towards free build vs the snap-in/grid style they've done so far.

The writing is abysmal in this game and it makes the RPG aspect very dull. That being said everything is done so well on every other aspect that this version of FO does make it fun to explore and find new gear. Had the Obsidian style writing from FNV been introduced to FO4, it would've been the best FO game overall. FO4 has really modernized the franchise to bring in new players and I think that's why the gameplay is fantastic but the writing was left to the wayside. Hopefully BGS rights their wrongs with FO5. FO: London (fan made total conversion mod) shows what could've been if BGS had focused a little more on the writing for this game.

I still think overall FO4 is the best game in the franchise as of yet due to the myriad of improvements and new features that came with the game. Mods are available to basically help close the gap for BGS dropping the ball on writing making it a much better experience.

Early Access Review
Devs released this game in EA probably a full year before it should've even been EA due to fan requests.

This game is definitely in early access. Optimization is poor (expected), animations are rough, occasional bugs that cause you to fail a run or something else of the sort. Yet even with all the typical EA stuff the core of the game is very well done. The game is as advertised, you don't play someone that can just shoot down everything in sight like most games in this genre. You have to choose your battles wisely or choose to stay hidden. The AI factions will crush you if given the chance, so you can't expect to mow down a few patrols and think that the rest of the units won't come searching for you.

Game has a lot of potential and I look forward to the devs shaping this into a unique game within the extraction shooter genre.

PGI made a terrific mech game with MW5: Clans. The game in its entirety takes ~20-25 hours to complete the main campaign. After beating the campaign, it allows you to retain everything you have and then just continue in a post-game save either by revisiting past missions or going to the simpods to just brawl. That leaves some post-game content to do, but it isn't much so if you're looking for the more sandbox style that was MW5: Mercenaries then you'll be disappointed. I still highly recommend this game even at $50 for fans of any stompy, robot games.

PGI doesn't have much experience in the way of cinematic scenes, but they did a pretty great job for their first foray into the endeavor with MW5: Clans. VAs were pretty solid all-around, writing was pretty good, and the game overall does a pretty good job of setting up the story of the Clan Invasion era from the eyes of Smoke Jaguar.

I look forward to seeing PGI bring more content like this whether it is through Clans or the Mercenaries line of games. The Battletech franchise deserves more attention.

Game so successful that Nintentards lost their mind over it. Nintendo got so jealous they made patents AFTER Palworld released, so they could try to ♥♥♥♥ over the indie devs. Japan's corporate syndrome has made Japanese hate on Pocketpair because Nintendo is the holy grail Japanese company. ♥♥♥♥ NINTENDO!

The game is the pinnacle creature capture and survival game all in one. Get it, it's worth it. The fact that Nintendo went after the game on some frivolous bs by filing patents AFTER the release of Palworld is insane; Shows how greedy Nintendo is. Nintentards can eat a ♥♥♥♥ because they've been eating up Creatures, TPC, and Nintendo's subpar Pokemon games for years and Palworld was a wake up call with how little innovation has been introduced to Pokemon in over a decade.

Spiritual successor to Lineage 2.

The game has some pay-to-win elements. They surprisingly don't ruin the experience though. There is plenty of content in the game and cinematic scenes are plentiful, voice acting is plentiful, they utilize UE4 very well (places look great, mobs are detailed af, and cosmetics look slick af), and the community thus far has been overall pretty good.

A lot of flak in the reviews seems to come from people just hating it because it's F2P and another Korean MMO (stigma). Yet this game is actually surprisingly done well and again while the P2W elements exist, it isn't noticeable where whales are just dominating the game. This game is F2P and offers a lot of good value for that alone. There hasn't been a point where I felt I hit a paywall (haven't spent a dime) and from the higher level players I've interacted with, there isn't a paywall you hit towards the cap either. Devs also seem to err away from trying to make the same mistakes of previous F2P MMOs where players felt like they needed to spend money to stay relevant. Hopefully the devs continue to make the right choices and this game gets a stable community for years to come.

For some context, I actually recommend Starfield overall. It isn't great, it isn't good, but it is mediocre slop to turn your brain off and mindlessly do brainless ♥♥♥♥. That being said, for $30 (I bought the Starfield version that got me this either way) this is pathetic. This is on top of the fact that MOST of the QoL updates requested weren't brought over in the last year, which one would think that this means they were hard at work with the DLC. Nope BGS ♥♥♥♥ out Shattered Space and the only people recommending it are absolute shills that will buy whatever slop they put out regardless of quality and value for your money.

For $30, this is terrible value. No in-game content was added to support outpost or shipbuilding endeavors. Content was almost entirely just for the story which is insanely short for a $30 DLC (usually $30 DLC are considered full blown expansions). Characters feel like they have no depth during the main quest, side quests are hilariously pathetic in writing, and overall the experience feels more like lazy slop than an actual curated Bethesda experience.

Just want to add. Yes they did add new clothes, armors, and weapons. NONE of them feel all that special and there certainly isn't anything unique about what they do that you can't get from weapons you've already collected. The story can get done pretty quickly, side quest writing is pretty horrid, and the game doesn't really give you any meaningful choices. I'd say that "The Duel" quest (side quest) for whatever reason has more of a serious consequence than anything in the main story for the DLC, that's pathetic.

This makes the horse armor from way back in the day look like a good value. It makes FO4's writing seem like it's on some Tolkien level in comparison. Keep in mind Phantom Liberty for CP2077 is $30, while I wasn't expecting that level of quality from this it didn't even come close. CDPR also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ their game a year after release and added quite a bit of free content. Bethesda simply doesn't care about their players anymore and it shows.

Update: Changed to not recommended. It seemed like this game had promise, but after awhile the devs seem to be rather slow with getting updates out to spice the game up. Community for the game is practically dead. There are known cheaters (with evidence posted on their Discord) that are still playing the game. It isn't clips of them hitting wild shots, it's just blatant wall hacks, sticky aim, etc. Some of the mods even joke with the cheaters and there has also been texts revealed where some of these cheaters have admitted to cheating in community tournaments. Check the steamcharts for this game and you'll see how hard it fell off. Absolutely doesn't help that there is a lack of integrity from the devs/mods in maintaining a fair playing experience when they entertain cheaters in their own Discord.

Gunplay is good, game has solid roots. There are some hackers already in-game, but it isn't riddled (so far run into them far less often than in CS2 or Siege).

The biggest issues I have with this game is that the Crew system (in Beta) needs a complete rework. Just make it work like clan systems instead of whatever random ♥♥♥♥ they're doing with it now. Lower the prices for skins, you don't incentivize anyone to spend money when you're already trying to get people to pay the price of more than a AAA game for skins that don't even do anything out of the ordinary. At least with Valorant (still overpriced) their skins actually have animations, banners, new sounds, etc which is a lot more reasonable than the simple upselling reskin you guys are trying. Would be nice if they created rulesets for their tier weapon system and let you create your own loadouts within those tiers.

Not going to not recommend this game based on the terrible pricing scheme for cosmetics as they haven't made anything p2w. Getting sponsors (agents/operators/wtf ever) is a bit grindy, but for now it is acceptable considering there are only like 8 total. As they introduce more sponsors they need to tone back the grind for sponsors or introduce a free rotation every week or something similar.

A LOT of negative reviews are because people don't like the monetization (pricing specifically) of skins which is understandable or because the game is "sweaty." The last one doesn't make sense, tac shooters have always been "sweaty." Casual queue exists for a reason, but if you rage in casual queue because of sweats you just need to go outside and touch grass. Ranked in any game is going to have sweats, but moreso in a tac shooter.

Overall the game is good, but skins are expensive and Crew system is wack.

Ironclad has done it again!

Absolute master class in what a fun, 4x, RTS should be. The game is easy to learn, hard to master (if you're wanting to be good at PvP). Game is extremely enjoyable against other players (good community) and also just as enjoyable with bots, be it alone or with other players in a comp stomp. This is a step up from the original Sins in nearly every aspect with requested maps being ported over and an active dev community that actually listens to feedback and implements change accordingly.

I recommend this game at full price as it is worth every penny, but on sale it is an absolute must have if you so much as think about wanting to play an RTS game. Diplomacy victories are possible with AI and players. The AI also doesn't backstab you if you treat them well which makes it possible to go into FFA games and actually form alliances that last until victory. Each faction brings its own flavor of playstyle from defense to offense, but doesn't divert so far from each other that the learning curve is steep.

Hats off to Ironclad once again for making the sequel we've all been waiting for!

Currently the best pre-modern era Battlefield game to date. Community is pretty health for an older game and there are plenty of community servers that are actively moderated to help keep cheaters at bay. Official servers have run amok with cheaters so play on community servers.

Recommend on a sale.

Game's community is pretty small now, but there are always a few servers up in all the major regions. DO NOT play on official servers, go to community servers. Official servers has a higher rate of cheaters while community servers tend to be moderated pretty well and at the worst you just need to join a Discord and report whoever is hacking and mods come and ban them pretty quick on most of the community hosted servers.

Overall the game isn't bad, but the community is insanely small compared to BF2042 or even BF1. TTK is also much less lenient in BFV.
