Early Access Review
I would recommend the game if it wasn't Hades "2". But it is, and it has one of the imo best games ever made as a prequel and at the moment, at least gameplay wise, it feels like playing a worse version of Hades 1. But that might change and the first update already shows the devs are listening to feedback.

Here are a few things I can think of right now that bother me or that felt more fun in Hades 1 that I hope will be improved:
-Most boons feel underwhelming and uninteresting. It feels like they lack synergy.
-It generally feels like you have to EITHER go some omega/mana build OR other attacks. There are a lot of boons that take mana away so you can't even use half of your abilities. Sometimes I have a build with 0 mana and then the next boon choice is between 3 things about mana. Usually in Hades 1 I was hyped about finding a boon. Here choices like that can even feel frustrating.
-I think there are too many conditional effects. Too much weighing between positive and negative effects and boons only working for a specific build path instead of getting a cool strong boon where the choice is hard because they all just sound really good.
-Daedalus Hammer doesn't seem to change the weapons in very interesting ways from what I've seen.
-Sprinting feels clunky and more annoying to use than useful. You can't do anything while you sprint. If sprinting is the new multi dash then why not let the player attack or do anything during it.
-Omega attacks are too slow. They take time so they break the flow of the fight AND cost mana which also feels too conditional. You can even charge them when you don't have enough mana which doesn't feel intuitive.
-It doesn't feel like Omega attacks and normal attacks flow well together but I can't really explain why.

-This is something that can't really be changed anymore but this game's atmosphere is gloomier and colder than Hades 1 and the main character Melinoë isn't as full of positive energy as Zagreus. It always felt like Zagreus is pushing me forward to start another run. This games atmosphere is a bit more tiring and the characters might play a role in that.
