Apparently the steam version of the game has server login issues several times a month. Wish I knew about this BEFORE I bought it on steam. Maybe you can get away with buying the game on steam, but for sure DO NOT install the game through steam. Buy the game on their website if you are so inclined to try this game out.

EDIT: I've recently returned to playing ESO and I can happily report that after playing for the past couple months I haven't had any issues with the steam implementation. I would still advise you pick the game up outside of steam but if you ever see it on sale here I wouldn't expect any problems with it through steam.
