Oh, I'm sorry, this is your trans-humanist neural upgrade disk?

Don't worry, as soon as I jump out this 14th story window, no, It won't be. :)

This game is a trip in the best way.

Relaxing, and meditative when driving,

impossible when reversing a trailer.

This is very close to the living world their going for. Seeing their plans for the future shows it's on the right path. It just needs a little more time to cook.

I'm happy to be part of the journey, and if your a fan of traditional roguelikes as well as older RPGs, you'll enjoy this one too. It blends the two genres well.

B3hfdnU is a pretty good seed for large worlds

UPDATE; In including family, child rearing, and continuing as one of your children, this game has taken a huge step on that aformentioned path. The next milestone is positive and negative interaction between settlements and this thing is GOLDEN.

Here's an example of how progression works.

Here's a ball. Hold it.
Now hold this second ball.
Now start tossing the first one up and catching it.
Now do the same with the second.
Very good. take a moment to master this.
Now balance the first ball on a plate as you toss it up and down.
Do the same with the second.
Now balance the first plate on a stick as you do this.
Yes, now do it with the second one.
Balance this third ball on your nose.
Now this forth one on top of that one.
Now balance this plate on top of them.

That's this game, progressively adding more steps to simple tasks that make managing it all painfully convoluted and leaving you to puzzle out how to make it work when you are typically a hairs breath away from everything falling apart.
There's a certain catharsis in figuring it all out, but getting to that point takes time and patience most aren't going to have.
If you do, your going to love this. if not, that's okay. Move on in the knowledge that you've saved yourself a fair bit of time.

One DLC secret Capcom DOESN'T want you to know!

Explorer camping kits are not the lightest kits, which is the most important factor.
Harpysnare beacons only help in areas that harpies already spawn in naturally, and more often then not, any staff user can bypass the need for them naturally, or by traveling with a pawn with a skill that launches you skyward. Both allows you to bypass a hell of a lot.
Heartfelt pendant is a clone of another item in the base game that serving the same purpose.
Ambivalent rift essences are just, bad. You don't get any choice in what your pawn becomes, nor what voice they get. You don't need to own it to be able to purchase (in game) similar consumables that allow you to pick a specific personality (though not voice), that come with the base game.
You can find portcrystals very early on with minimal effort once you know where they are, and are plentiful with more then enough to set up a very robust network of fast travel points, with a spare or two on hand to place as desired.
Wakestones are dropped like candy naturally
Riftcrystals are abundant naturally and don't have too many uses this time around.

All the DLC is just redundant or outright worse then what you can find/do naturally.
I like to think this was the devs subtly flipping the bird to Capcom.

This review will remain as a persistent reminder to Arrowhead to listen to their players.

It's dissapointing as hell, tbh.
We constantly say this isn't fun, what they're doing, and we constantly get told to back off even when we point out legitimate issues.

Remember when we backed them up during the Sony tampering? the 3 day war?
We stood by them when they needed it, each and every one of us, but they have shown they will NOT do the same for us even over player issues.

It's not fun anymore, but clearly their vision comes before their success and reputation.

IMO, peak horror has a good blend of screams and laughter, best experienced with friends.

This is peak horror.
