Fast-paced and easy to learn, but hard to master gameplay. It gets tough to maintain hard combos while punching na*is.

Review during pre-order beta.

This is a must-play for anyone in the 40k fandom. The setting is perfectly crafted and the OST will bring a guardsman out in everyone who hears it.
Gameplay is intense with the hordes of the unfortunate souls and legions of heretics coming down on your squad and the variety of weaponry will cater to a number of playstyles.

Be aware that there are still stability issues, the core gameplay is the same regardless of objectives in the missions and anything higher than level 3 in the mission selection requires a well-coordinated team and high-level gear, which you won't get directly from the shop.

Undying classic with a number of mods available for it.
C'mon, it's Half-Life!

Originally owned this on the Half-Life Generation box with the expansions. Bought recently on Steam for better compatibility on Windows 10.

A timeless and ageless classic.
The prince of FPS titles.
A foundation for modern gaming.
Now brought up for the modern era.

I played this game on my Olivetti when it first came out. The poor machine could barely run it when booting to DOS. Then I beat it on N64. And now I've beaten it for the second time and got to experience the expansion packs, with amazing level design in the latest one. Do yourself a favor and play this danged thing.

Marked "received for free" because I had bought the base game on Steam some time before and it updated to its latest incarnation, which might as well count as a new game thanks to the expansion packs.

Cheap and uninspired match-three time waster.
Grants three modes of play: timed challenge, untimed casual and relaxation modes.

Mediocre art, questionably useful powerups that can be upgraded by coins earned through clearing levels, and ho-hum story.

This game is absolute suffering to try and complete.

I need more of it.

Fun little puzzler. Reminds me so much of The Incredible Machine series. Oh, the nostalgia.

Early Access Review
Half-Life reborn, with the world feeling much more lived-in. Sure, they compressed a few crawl sections, but they've fleshed out much more of the game.
Truly a labor of love and a service to gaming culture as a whole.

An obvious labor of love, this. A more than worthy successor to Future Shock and Skynet.

Sure, the graphics aren't the top-notch AAA production the current markets expect, but I say that they don't need to be. What's important is the feel of the game, the art direction. And it's as Terminator as it can get.

Comparisons to Fallout 4 or 76 are thrown about, but this does the nuclear post-apocalyptic wasteland better than 76, maybe even Fallout 4. Chest high barriers and other throwbacks nothwithstanding.

Worth the money? Hell yes.
Worth a 10/10? No, but it doesn't need to be 10/10 to be enjoyable. And the ending... It's one of the most satisfying endings to an FPS I've seen in a long while.
I give it a solid 7/10, and that is okay. If it had the megabucks budget, it'd be closer to 10/10, but like I said, this is fine too. Maybe some day we get that top-notch AAA Terminator game that'll rock the FPS genre like Terminator 2 did with action movies. But until that day comes, this'll tide you over.

PURGE IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR!

+ The atmosphere of the game is superbly gothic 40k.
+ The weapons are varied allowing for multiple playstyles, though players usually find their one loadout they prefer the most.
+ The graphics are beautiful

- The squadmate AI can be wonky at times
- After the first playthrough (or maybe even before), you get acclimated to the threat of the genestealers, so the anxiety factor has a somewhat short half-life.
