I've always loved realistic depictions of space. It's that fine line between beauty, serendipity and the fear of death and understanding the fragility of man. It's the same reason I enjoy diving so much. But that concept can't hold up an entire 3 hour game without expansion or exploration.

The issue with Adri1ft is that it doesn't care to grow and develop. The initial experience you get from Afr1ft is where it is at its finest, that desperation to find oxygen kicks and screams life and hooks you and as you get more comfortable with the system of movement, you begin to wonder as a player what happened. And this is where it falls apart, your character plays a pivotal role the build up of the story but not in the post-mortem of it, your actions in game have no bearing on any progression of either yourself or coming to a conclusion - you will go through a walking simulator, piecing together the story of dull characters that you have no reason to care for. You will learn of a dull cause and effect tale and face no consequences once you understand the truth of it all. The story doesn't need you. Whether or not you play or not doesn't change or make any major difference to the world. For a game that centers the entirety of the 3 hour stroy on such a fruitless endeavour does not deserve your money.
