One of (if not the single) best Survivors-type games on the market. For Free.

Fun little ~1.5 hour murder mystery party. Fun twist. Auto-runner levels wore a little thin at the end, but hey, free game, not exactly expecting a mind-blowing experience.

Piloting a mech feels good and fighting is cool but objectives are repeatedly failing to start leaving my missions stuck in limbo.

Darktide has always had outstanding core gameplay and atmosphere with kickass music, but struggled with systems surrounding that gameplay. Now, years later, they've finally fixed the system for acquiring and upgrading weapons. I can wholeheartedly recommend Darktide now.

A poorly coded adaptation of 1st edition Pathfinder rules, combined with bad encounter design, bad map design, bad original characters, does a complete hatchet job of existing characters and organizations, and a frustratingly boring army management minigame on top (you can disable it, but it blocks you from completing certain mythic path quests and is required for obtaining some of the best equipment in the game).
The only reason to get this is because it is 1 of the 2 options for cRPG's in 1e Pathfinder. The other one is made by the same developer when they had less experience.

Simple and addicting. Hands down one of the best value games since skyrim.

this is not a bad game
it also, sadly, isn't a terribly good game either. it's frustratingly mediocre.
it feels like it's so frustratingly close to being good, great even, but there's just a few things missing, just a few problems, and it winds up in it's current unimpressive state.

maybe if I play it more I'll start to see more of the gem shine through the grime, but honestly I don't know if I care enough to do so.

The epic fantasy aesthetic is cool at least. a lot of people call it generic, but the Valorplates really give me some Shardplate vibes

In the time since I made my first review, most of my issues have been addressed and the "boom and zoom" AoE spam meta was severely curbed. no more making a sandwich while your clone blows up everything in a 50 meter radius with infinite ammo. Game is actually playable in a party with randoms again now that it isn't guaranteed someone will be filling the screen with explosions at all times. Overall a fun experience!

Creation Club is obviously still divisive. There are plenty of good lore friendly mods that do everything the Creation Club does but for free if you're willing to do the legwork, but there's definitely some merit to be had in what creation club offers. $20 for everything is way less than you'd spend otherwise.

An easy to grasp game about brewing potions to sell to townsfolk and travelers, with the unique "alchemy map" system rewarding creative use of the myriad unique herbs, mushrooms, and ores at varying levels of grind and dilution to make the best potions you can.

maybe also make the philosopher's stone if you're in to that?

Plans for future development seem like good additions to the gameplay loop without being unrealistic or overly ambitious. Price is right too.
