XCOM 2 has excelled beyond our expectations....
And that is not a statement this Council makes lightly.

27 hours in and the game is getting more intense by the minute.
I'm totally hooked and aside from few minor bugs, I can't find a single thing wrong with the game (Except the heavy load on your pc, outdated equipment need not apply).
What made XCOM EU/EW great has been improved and polished,
This game is easily one of the greatest of all time. IMO.

EDIT: took about 44 hours, specially enjoyed the "scripted" missions. I spread the promotions a little too thin, and my grenadiers never reached the highest ranks since very few of my soldiers died. The overarching story is very XCOM EU/EW since late-game you will be very overpowered. That's mostly because of tactics and abilities you've acquired.

*SPOILERS* I spent way too many hours at the last mission fighting the hordes simply because one of the avatars had teleported behind me on the map and out of the "final stage", and I had no idea about this. It simply said 1 avatar left and I kept hoping it would appear soon from one of the portals. I actually found it while doing a tactical retreat because I was getting overwhelmed waitin for the last avatar to appear. I don't know if this was intended or not but it was extremely frustrating. Nevertheless, the feeling of success and awe after beating the game was unlike any other.

10/10

My next playthrough will definitely be on a higher difficulty though.

EDIT: the game scales well with the harder difficulties added with ironman.
Dead rookies everywhere.
