I just bought the base game and that's expensive for what it is. Quite lackluster. The story has potential but was b-rate TWD TV show level trash for the most part. I can get over a poor story but the as gameplay is very boring even after a few hours. I like the setting but the world feels bland when everting this is so samey. Very little variety of enemy models, vehicles. I didn't play much of 4 as it was too soon after 3 and felt like the same thing, I really enjoyed 3 which was a while ago now but I don't recall getting sick of enemy encounters or animals as much as 5. As a comment on another negative review said "The encounter rate, is masking the small tiny, and empty map".
I overestimated Ubisoft. Expected a refreshing change but it's the still the same game since 3. Looks it almost too (same engine). In-fact it feels less so now they took out animal skinning.
On the bright side at least you get to play the DLC. Shame you cannot sell keys afterwards.
