games in a rough spot. campaign is overall good, but can be easy or hard depending on your RNG for loot.

Ascending is a chore, especially the 3rd and 4th one. Maps are overtuned, no crafting, difficult to improve character power, boring endgame.

White mobs can be harder than rare mobs...white mobs can also chunk you for 50% or just kill you. Defensive layers do not matter.

Decent game. Lacks real seasons, depth, endgame grind, but fun enough to pick up and play for a few hours.

Probably the best game I've played in 2021.

After about 70 hours in the game, I can recommend this to almost anyone. The world is rich & the engine renders weather effects with a more ominously realistic feel, than any game I've played. The survival, crafting, & base building all synergize well together. I find myself playing the game, just to enjoy the game. Sometimes I take a boat ride to find a new island, or fish, or even hunt some of those sneaky sea turtles. There are issues - inventory management, sluggish combat, combat values, but they don’t take away from the game to much.
