Hi, Cred. You have to start it online once - because of Denuvo. Afterwards you can play offline mode. That is, until Denuvo decides you changed something with your computer configuration (say, a driver's update), then you have to start it online, once again. A typical chore for legit game buyers.
A thing that has changed with Denuvo is that it is not permanent anymore - publishers have to remove it after a year or renew their licence. Then they remove it, because it's expensive. Some games though, like CodeVein, enjoy the questionable privilege of having implemented it when it had no limited time of use.

Oh? I couldn't even get it to start when I was offline last year. Among other games. Maybe they changed it. Hate it when devs put that stuff in.
