Alternately amazing and terrible. It is simultaneously the best game I've played in 5 years and so infuriating the I wouldn't fault anyone for walking away.

The gist is that the core gameplay experience is excellent and possibly the best open world I've felt in years. The multiplayer and controls, on the other hand, are convoluted and clunky. You will spend the first several hours learning how to play, and until you have rhythm of combat down, you cannot play the game at all; even the weakest enemy is an existential threat.

But man, once you have that down, you have an absolute treat on your hands.

If you can't put 6 hours into learning to play this game, I don't fault you. If that's the case, don't buy it, because you'll hate it. If you can budget the time, buckle up.
