Helldivers 2 is one of the best games ever produced, and one of the best I've ever played. I'll probably never stop playing, and neither should you.


Arrowhead delivered something that was magical and truly inspiring. They put the rest of the gaming industry on notice and brought us back to the days of old where gaming mattered to developers.


Helldivers the world over were no longer able to spread managed democracy due to choices made to make the release smoother, and for corporate benefit.


The publisher had a winner, they didn't have to enforce linking of a PSN account. In doing so, they locked out over 100 countries from ever experiencing this amazing game - countries it must be added that have citizens who already own the game, and now no longer have access.


There's a lot of irony in what happened next; Arrowhead gave us a game where by nature we must band together to complete service-wide objectives. They created a community that was driven towards a singular goal - spreading of managed democracy.

I don't think that Sony had any idea how the community would band together for each other. This wouldn't happen in other communities.

Last I saw, there were over 270,000 negative reviews on Steam alone, this made Sony pay attention, and they've ultimately backed out their decision to enforce linking of PSN accounts.

Now, with victory attained, people are flipping their reviews back to the way they should be - as I am also doing.

This is cause for celebration.


IMO this is the single best game I've had the privilege of playing in the last decade, and a community I am proud to be a part of.



This game is gorgeous, at ultra it looks phenomenal. There are a huge amount of options allowing you to tune the performance to your personal PC spec, but it always looks good.

It's your classically great rogue-like experience - addictive and enticing in equal measure. The gameplay loop sees you traversing multiple planets/biomes spreading managed democracy in the name of Super Earth.

There are 9 difficulty levels. The game has been master-crafted whereby enemies don't get harder in higher difficulty levels in the traditional sense, new mechanics are added (e.g. one of the mobs that vomit acid also launch mortars of the same at higher levels). You end up with more enemies and the AI seems to try to overwhelm you more.

Can you play solo? Sure. Is it balanced for multi-play? You betcha.

Don't come in thinking you'll be able to play the game on the highest difficulty without any preparation.

Disappointing that the latest DLCs are making the game unstable.

Have had years of no problems including not so long ago, but now I am getting a continual:
"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck"

Still highly recommended, but this needs to be fixed.

A GOTY nominee without ultra-wide support... in 2022!

What a joke.

And no, I refuse to hack the executable to allow ultra-wide on a triple-A title and lose EAC.

Refunded.

Devs fixed whatever the problem was that I was experiencing. Having a great time #worthit

OLD REVIEW:
While I love this game, it crashes every 10 minutes. This is a common problem (Google search it). If the developers bother to fix whatever the issue is, I'll have no problem recommending this to anyone... as it is currently though, don't waste your money.

I can't really articulate this any other way; I freaking love this game!

This should be in every Steam users' library, get it now!
