When I was a freshman in college, I would routinely leave my Philosophy class, get a snack from the basement floors vending machine, roam around the building while I ate it and finally I'd head back to class.

About half way through the semester, each time I would go get a snack from the machine, it would always have a large amount of change left over from a prior transaction inside of the coin return slot.

This happened for about two weeks straight, to the point that I often could just bring a quarter or two, yet walk away from the vending machine with a substantially higher priced item.
