So it's been 5 years since civ V, meaning it's finally time for a new proper civ game!
Since most civ games tend to be released pretty vanilla (meaning that for the most fun you kinda want and need the expansions) I was pleasantly surprised to see this game as more complete than most previous parts.

Already religions and civic states are in the game and there's a fairly decent set of leaders (civilizations) to pick from.

For those new to the game: The purpose of civ is to built a civilization (duh) that can somehow stand the test of time and get a win by a various number of ways: get the best score after a fixed amount of turns, annihilate all (conquer all the capitals from the other civs), be the founder of the dominant religion or science (a rocket race to mars) and finally cultural, built a proper paradise where all the tourists flock to.

New are the city districts, a welcome addition that gives your cities more depth than before, there's also more consequences of where you place districts and cities since the districts interact with eachother, the landscape and sometimes even other cities. Great fun.

Also the first patch has been distributed, fixing a number of annoying problems. Obviously the developers are keeping track of our wishes and are listening. Always a good thing!

I'll probably update this review as time progresses, but for now it's back to the old addiction: "just...one...more...turn"
