I bought it to check it out and quickly refunded my purchase after doing tutorial, then spawning on my first server and running around aimlessly for 60min before getting TK'd.

Two days later, my buddy (and a "i HaVe NoThINg To PlAy" mood) convinced me to give it another go.
Re-bought it, joined a server and, this time, used my mic to inform others that i was new to the game. The response to this statement was almost universally "oh no worries, let me help you out."

We met 4 or 5 comrades in 2 hours who took us under their wings and showed us the ropes - this was the absolute difference maker. The community, even on some random official server, was so welcoming and patient. They'd give you situational knowledge and direction to the next objective and the like; as much as they can teach in combat..

.,.but If you're going to get in to this and are super shy about comms, leave voip on and your ears open.. you'll still learn. In either case, i'd advise at least watching a cpl YT videos on how the radio range and supply system works, as well as building functions - even if you're a chatty cathy and making friends all over the battlefield, knowing that info made the gameplay loop far more compelling and rewarding.. and your teammates can only teach you so much while concentrating on the game/objectives.

Looking forward to seeing how this game evolves and to check out the lively modscene... if i can just make it through those modded server queues.

Highly recommend; easily one of the lowest barrier milsims i've ever tried out and very rewarding combat.

It's not quite as good as Rage Randy: Past The Lightning Sphere, but it's a close second.

FFXVI is fantastic. The darker, more gritty tone is super neat to see. I am only now catching up to where i was on ps5 and am glad i waited - the playstation struggled with frame right quite often.. Playing through it all again at 144fps was simply glorious.

The fps limit of 30 to cutscenes is kind of jarring when running at those higher rates, but there are mods mentioned in other reviews and on the guide page, that will unrestrict frame rate for said cutscenes.

I am a big fan of the more action oriented combat in this game vs previous enteries.. some may not. The story is pretty damn interesting too. The game seems fairly easy so far, but i'd imagine the difficulty ramps up as it progresses further - those who find juggling the various combat mechanics a bit too much can also equip items that will automatically take care of those systems for you (auto combos, auto heal, companion orders, ect.)

I do wish there was some form of transmog system, especially for weapons. I'd love to use some of my DLC/Preorder weapons, but they are extremely OP at the start of the game - im on my 3rd or 4th weapon, fully upgraded and i'm still below the attk lvl of the DLC swords.

I bought a ps5 for this game and ghost of tsushima, then sony released them both on steam... i bought both, again. I hope they give us a true collection of the old Uncharted games soon..

**TLDR: Highly recommend**

Native dualsense support was a lie - no playstation glyphs to be found, with or w.o steam input enabled, despite the store saying it is supported/

Also, the game completely locked up when checking controls out; was 'stuck' on a single key option, unable to back out of screen, but could rebind the same option over and over... The severe lack of settings/options for gfx is also troubling..

Was looking forward to finally seeing what Lollipop Chainsaw was all about, but i ended refunding for the above reasons.
Might check it out again after patches and a decent sale..
