If I revalue it from a perspective that it´s an arcadegame and trying it out in "insanity mode" then it´s a quite nice game :)

Based on 34minutes playing

Very good looking and it was chilled out to see that you could only choose "feminine" or "masculine" and not genderbased since that really does not matter when you are a soldier.

But when I first encountered the Xenos and I saw they strictly took the stairs like marines I feelt something break inside of me. The aliens made me feel like I was some kind of exterminator of rats and they did not feel scary in anyway. No atmosphere and extremly linear. I also hate all wavebased games except Killing floor one which I feel is excellent in giving you a feel of impending doom.

I wished that when I ALT+F4 was because of a ragequit by I just did out of boredom and didnt even feel like I wanted to get into the mainmenu to quit it. My friend Micky who is a huge Alienfan recommended this to me so I will at least try a game with him not open my mouth and say something negative while we play and just see how it feels to play it with him and if its possible to see the game through his eyes.

But so far for me its:
Graphics: Very wellmade
Atmosphere: No atmosphere and only very gamy.

I also do not enjoy: Killiing floor 2, Vermintide 2 and think these are extremly dull and braindead boring games.

I´m a huge fan of Milsims and perhaps this is why I cant enjoy this. But I do really enjoyed Helldivers which I feel is a much more fun game. But then again I´m not making this game justice with 34minutes play. I paid 5euro for it and I think it was allmost worth that amount.

It just bored me.

Rather play this game that has tons of atmosphere and is playable in 4player coop or online with randomly generated missions and campaigns and has a true sense feel scaryness towards Xenos.

I loved "Alien" on the C64 which was a scary singleplayer game.
I very much enjoyed Alien Isolation.
I thought Colonial marines was, linear and with chokepoints with wavebased missions.

First of it´s kind to use proximity chat in this efficient way. Its quite scary when you are talking to a friend that is behind you and suddenly you hear a weird sound and you get no answer. So when you then look behind you there is only a trail of blood but no friend and you feel all alone in the darkness.

A very tight teamwork is needed in this and it works splendidly to cooperate with random people that you never talked to befor. It reminds me of the excellent coop shooter https://steamproxy.com/steamstore/app/357330/Space_Beast_Terror_Fright where teamwork is the most important thing aswell,except in that game you need intuitive teamwork and no talking and lots of shooting. They are each others opposites and fantastic teamwork games. I think Lethal company is the second best game I played this year. I´m not a patient person and neither was the friend I was playing with. Regardless we manage to descifer some of the puzzle codes to progress a bit into it. I must say it has good atmosphere but we got lost and had a bit hard time to understand what we where supposed to solve at some point. So we are now installing this and trying the devs second game and see if its easier to understand. As mentioned we did not get far in it but we very much lliked the atmosphere in it and gave you a good feeling and also a scary feeling. I recommend you to try it out with a friend you know good. Perhaps a partner or a former partner or your best friend. Since you as players ar split a part in a big caslte with walkie talkies you need to understand what the other person means and that why I think it will shine like a diamond if you play it with them :)

Something I hate when there is no opening for thinking something yourself. I think the story seems quite okey. But to be forced to play small areas and then get forced into a situation with the feel of old school Call of duty 1 missions where you are suppose to hold of enemies for a period of time before your retarded AIbuddie will hack a computer. It´s just plain boring. Graphics are quite okey. If the maps/levels would have been more open I think it would be fun. I just played a few hours and its just repeating itself with hold off enemies until a certain time unlocks the end of that part. Also the Aliens does not care about attacking the other marines so much as to just focus on you. just dumb.

I had to totally rewrite my experince with The Isles of Yore since I started playing it again.

"The most realistic dinosaur simulation that exists"
Some people would say that it is "The isle". But it really isn´t since Herbivores in groups will try to hunt down Carnivores and that is not realism in anyway.If there was an inbuilt mechanic in that and other games That Herbivores can only hit Carnivores if they hit you first it would have worked.

"Few players does not matter"
The first thing is that I didn´t grasped when I wrote the review first is that I feelt it was a failed game since very often I only see empty servers. But in this game it doesnt mean something bad like it would be in in PoT,TI or BoB (Other Dinogames out there) because the difference is that those are stonecold dead without players even Path of Titans with it´s Ai critters because they are not Dinos.

The immersion of the beautiful landscape of the nature and the ai dinosaurs you encounter is really enough for Isles of Yore to stand on its own. There is no need for an online playerbase.

- "The adventures of an Allosaurus the isles of Yore" -

"Lets share the food"
I started as a small Allosaurus and feelt then I wouldnt have to fear anything. I traversed the landscape and managed to chunk som small Raptorlike Dinos with feathers even though I struggled when we got deep inside of the vegetation of a jungle. I heard some noises of another Dino and I went to see what it was and managed to kill something much larger than me but I suddenly started to bleed.I ripped of some chunks of meat and ate ( Its possible ingame). Suddenly emergering from the foliage was another huge Dinosaur of unknown species grey and dark grey in colurs appeared 20 meters from me. I show to leave my food and not take the fight since I was bleeding and wounded. It went for the carcass and started to eat and then it dawned on me that it really feelt very natural and realistic. I went out in the open and then a huge Tyrannosaurus came out 50 meters ahead, not looking in my direction. I just followed it from that same distance very slowly to se where it would go but when it deeper inside of the jungle I didnt dare to follow and thought I would just end up a snack. At some point managed to go down in the swamps in the dark and I had to swim some time.

" Me and the natives"
I had no clue it was a swamp first until later on when I tried to swim to land but just had to swim for such along time. Then when I finally got there and the grey foggy daylight became a bit easier to see through I understood it was just an island somewhere and everywhere I looked I couldnt see any land. My feelings where; I will never reach adulthood and form my pack with small kids to chunk meat with. I stomped around on the island for some time and noticed that the only natives of the island me and the foul looking fat toads. I ate breakfast and brought the toads with me, inside of me and said to them "It´s time we leave this island of sadness" and I splashed into the water and hope I wouldnt drown in the swamps. It took forever to reach the other side and the only landmark I could see was the mountaintops in ghe distance. But finally I was safe and I spotted a small Triceratops but to big for me still since I´ve met Trikes before (PoT,Ti,BoB) and know that I would probably die.

" A friend in the water"
I went up the mountainside and enjoyed the looks of wonderful close by. Then suddenly I saw a Allo sitting behind me in the middle of the waterstream looking directly at me. I could choose to form a pack but I didnt get how and I by misttake attacked it and got hunted instead. I run away and manage to escape it just see myself standing infront of a Tyrannosaurus. I turned my tail and started to dolt for the water and it stomped after me I ran further up the mountain and and tried to get rid of it by jumping over a waterfall stream but just ended up falling into the water.

" The trap"
The Rex didnt jump after and instead went further up to go down in the stream. I knew it would be my death if it managed to because there was rocks on bothsides of the stream except the area further up where it was stomping towards. I was so happy that I found footing close to the stream and started to gain speed and was quick enough to escape the trap. Aarrghh. So far I´m still alive and not yet a fully grown Allo.

I never enjoyed it in any othergame but wanted to give it a try. I took sometime to grow allmost adult. Then I started to enjoy just eating swimming around and exploring the landscape. But when I traversed uphill at a rocky area I came up behind a fully grown Tyrannosaurs Rex and my heart froze to Ice and I just turned around and sprinted downhill and in a straight line as long as long as I had Stamina. Later on I got hunted down into a lake by some foul slim small looking Dinos and got killed. My only minus are these:
- Neonred blood that looks like its from a paintball gun.
- A bit fiddly controls before you get into them, Not so clear how to form a pack and how smelling works
- Humanmade cottages and lights on the road but not possible to play as a human.

"The isles of Yore is truly an Island of its own in terms of Dinogames"
There is nothing like The isles of Yore in terms of simulation of the dinoworld that is singleplayer wiht possibility to play with others. The only thing close so far is a game that isn no longer in developement named "Saurian". So even though The isles of Yore only so far got 6 dinos I think to play with it still is a so deep and immersive simulation of the era that makes it not possible to even compair to any other.

Other Dino games that are good but are riddled with problems based on the devs failures with inbuilt mechanics to force players playing them as the Herbs & Carnos and not based on the humanmindset:

- Path of Titans -
+ Solo server with permanent death
+ Extremly enjoyable flying that really feels like you fly.
+ Good mix with day/nightcycle and no need for nightvision
+ Good emotes to communicate with sound and gestures ingame without using chat.
+ Mods, Tons of Dinosaurs -Modded servers only have pple playing in few hotspots
+ Wonderful graphics
+ Fantastic Storms with rain,swaying trees,Extreme fog.
+ Ai critters and small dinos that can kill you when you are smaller including snakes.
+Nesting
- Very game map even though its fantastic with its diversty
- Not possible to choose transparency of the HUD.
-Mixpackers on regular officials, Not on soloservers(Carnivores & Herbavores hanging out in groups killing others together)
- Pointless electrical sounds emerging from Teleportstones (Brings you out of immersion)

- The Isle -
+ Tracking dinos and smelling
+You are allways afraid of drinking water because of how smart the rivers are in Evrima and you never know if a Croc will eat you.
- Night with nightvision in grey with viewdistance 10meters.
(This is what made me never being able to enjoy it since its to long downtime of doing nothing until day is back)
- Few dinos -Very bad and gamey flyingmechanicsx, -No Seacreatures
-Mixpackers (Carnivores & Herbavores hanging out in groups killing others together)
- Human made stuff all over the place but can´t be played as humans.

- Beasts of Bermuda -
+ Smelling
+Very realistic landscape with fantastic views
+Good foliage
+Nesting
+Weather affects you
+ Fantastic Storms and rain
- Neon coloured skins
-Strange sci-fi looking Dinotemples
- Glowing portals

This is my review for The isle,Path of Titans,Beasts of Bermuda, Isle of Yore
1. Path of titans
This is my all time favorite Dinogame since it has everything I want from a Dinosaurgame.
+ Graphics are stunning
+ Fun with quests where you go and collect berries/nuts to get evolution points. Even though it´s very unrealistic with quests where you collect stuff it really gives you a meaning walking or flying across the map and it makes it really stand out from the others. First I thought it would feel flimsy and weird but this is what I really love with it :)
+ Very enjoyable as a soloplayer and if you put the chat to "Local" you will not be brought out of immersion. Also some players don´t kill on sight allways in this game and it´s quite fun to communicate with others to see if they want to be friendly. I allmost never look at the chat since I want to get the feel of being a Dino. This is the only game of all on the list which I can just drop into and just chill and at the same time enjoy playing and experiencing wonderful nature at the same time.

+ MOD SUPPORT! It´s wonderful because some servers have such diversity of dinosaurs and you can really enjoy all of them regardless if it was millions of year inbetween when they lived on earth. Also someone created a Sabretooth :D. The mod community is very strong and serious in its dedication to bring more content.

2.Beasts of Bermuda
I played this before I found Path of Titans since The Isle was to hardcore for me.
+ Nice with the weathercycles and storms where you need to take cover.
+ Quite easy with to learn the controls and get a hang of it.
+ Neat with a skilltree so you can develope your own style of dinosaur
+ Super fun to start as an egg and get hatched and grow with parents
- Neon skins for the Dinos(Thankfully you can turn them off)
- Very gamy and Dinos of all sorts bunch together and just hang around doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
- Shrines where you can get boosts and such, very gamy and I must say takes the immersion totally out of it.

3. The Isle
Realistic but quite boring because it´s so hard to survive (At least as a noob like me with only 15hours in the game).It´s also quite hard to survive and quite limited to what you can eat as a herbavore. It´s probably fun if youre a bunch of Dinos on discord but not so enjoyable solo.

- Not possible to add your favorite servers in a list for completly unknown reasons to me, so you need to write down the server you play on.

- Very few dinos to choose from since its striving to be realistic which means Tyranosaurus are not posible use together with other dinos that you´ve seen in Jurassic park ;(

Actually I prefer The isle more than Beasts of Bermuda but I have not just got the hang of that and I´m sure it has much more value as a Dino game than BoB.

4. Isle of Yore:
If this game would support 500 players on a server I would have not refunded it.
Wonderful graphics & realistic landscape & awesome atmosphere, no players :(

BIGGEST MINUS WITH ALL DINO GAMES:
It is actually that they playerlimit on servers are around 100-150.
I hope all them can make a breakthrough on the playerlimit so we can have really alive worlds. PRoblem with most of them is that the worlds are to big and the server limits are so low so players tend to hang out at specific areas and not really being all over the map. This makes the immersion a bit boring and it feels like there has been some sort of plague.

- An extremly annoying sound that can not be turned off, it stresses you to have this alarm sound in the background all the time and it does not add to the atmosphere in anyway. I would loved to explore it more but the sound is a complete immersion breaker. At first I thought it was a bug but its also a part of the trailer here on steam. So if you can stand that sound or could enjoy to have the game sound off then I´m sure you would love this game.

I was so intriqued by walking around in dwindling tunnels and search for clues and notes but its just not possible to enjoy as it is now ;(
