Ingredients:

2 cups of water

4 cups of granulated sugar

Optional: food coloring and flavoring of your choice (such as vanilla or fruit extracts)

Instructions:

1. In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
2. Gradually add the granulated sugar to the boiling water, stirring continuously until it dissolves completely.
3. Reduce the heat to medium and continue stirring until the mixture reaches a temperature of around 300°F (150°C). You can use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature.
4. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the saucepan from the heat.
5. If you'd like to add color or flavor to your rock candy, this is the time to do it. Add a few drops of food coloring and flavoring of your choice to the mixture and stir well.
6. Prepare a clean glass container by greasing the inside with cooking oil or spraying it with non-stick spray.
7. Carefully pour the hot mixture into the prepared container, ensuring that it doesn't overflow.
8. Now comes the waiting game. Allow the container to sit undisturbed in a cool, dry place for about 1-2 weeks. During this time, the sugar will crystallize, forming beautiful rock candy structures.
9. Once the crystals have fully formed, remove them from the container and enjoy your homemade crystal rock candy!

Remember to handle hot substances with caution and ensure proper ventilation when cooking. Enjoy your sweet creation, but remember to consume it responsibly and in moderation!
