You can date a skeleton. 10/10

This game is easily one of my favorite titles of 2023. If you're a Pokemon fan like myself and have been disappointed with the vast majority of Pokemon games released in the past several years, you are going to love this game. If you don't care about Pokemon, it's still an enjoyable RPG in its own right. The turn-based combat is a bit more advanced than Pokemon, but not so much that you'll feel overwhelmed. The quest lines are actually intriguing and the characters are decently written especially the companions. It has some good boss fights with the Archangels. There's also a local co-op mode that lets another player take control of one of your companions, which is neat! All of this backed by a solid soundtrack.

As of this writing, the developers are working on an update that adds online multiplayer for you to explore the overworld together, fight rogue fusions, trade cassettes and battle with other players. This review will be updated once that goes live and I have a chance to try it out.

TLDR: This is one of the best non-Pokemon monster taming games yet.
