The ONLY football based MMO around and the only one where you everyone gets to play as an individual player. You start off as an amateur playing 3-a-side, but after level 10 you join Division 4 and start to work your way up with experience. It has two modes of play: joining a queue for one of the four Football Superstars clubs and playing with other random players or by joining a Player Managed Club (PMC), which is a team run by another player and playing against other PMCs.

It has 5-a-side, 7-a-side and 11-a-side options, but you won't get to play 7s until Division 3 and 11s isn't available until you reach Division 2. Although if you are in a Player Manged Club (PMC) you can play 5s, 7s or 11s PMC matches at any level.

Yes, like many games, it has it's issues: dodgy keeper AI (the only player that isn't played by a real person), other players deliberately trying to spoil matches, graphics a bit dated, and partly pay to win. I say partly pay to win because if you can find a good PMC that tries to play good football you can still win vs opponents who have paid real money to get high stats and items but don't really know how to play football. The matches at lower levels can be pretty bad so you need patience to work your way up to Division 1. The matches at this level are much higher quality and there's nothing quite like playing an 11-a-side with all players except the keeper controlled by real people. Joining (or creating) a good PMC is key to getting the most out of this game.

The claimed social aspect is minimal, the map you move around in whilst waiting to join a match is small and there isn't really anything to do other than kit out your player with the free (green) or paid for (blue, purple) items. You can also go to the gym to train your player in different areas of skill or add extra skills by buying them from the various trainers on the small football pitch. There are also various shops around where you can buy new clothes for your character but the choice is fairly limited and it's diffcult to stand out from the crowd.

I have been playing this game since 2009 and probably have over 2000 hours playing time (about 1400 through Steam) and I still enjoy it. The game wasn't updated for about 2 or 3 years but they have a small team working on it again and released an update earlier this year and have promised more will follow.

If you enjoy football I can recommend this game to you. For frustrated footballers everywhere...

Update: It's 2018 and I've now spent 3640 hours of my life in this game...
