Absolute Masterpiece...
Ever since watching the entirety of the "Silent Hill Transmission" Konami held on October 19th, 2022, start to finish, when it was live streamed, I've been waiting to see what would become of Silent Hill 2's remake coming from Bloober Team.
Bloober Team... in trying to recreate a game from a beloved franchise, given your past track record, most did NOT believe you would make anything close to what Bloober Team actually made. But I believed; I believed in the team, and Bloober Team came through... They wanted to make a very faithful remake for the fans, and in part of doing so to keep that promise, they brought back some of the original creator minds from Silent Hill's "Team Silent," namely Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka. Bloober Team, Masahiro, and Akira have brought genuine and rich psychological horror back. From the atmosphere to sound design and ESPECIALLY character design [Maria is best girl], EVERYTHING is SO well done. Immersion in this remake is PINNACLE. As of writing, this is the most advanced game I've ever seen in terms of graphical fidelity; the opening scene, walking through the forest, quite literally felt like taking a walk outside into the real world through a foggy forest. The greater amount of horror felt with the use of Unreal Engine 5's graphical fidelity capabilities in Silent Hill 2 Remake was substantial and made it feel a HELL of a lot more frightening... Bloober Team did an outstanding job at giving new, modern life to the Silent Hill franchise and Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill 2 Remake gives my NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER a run for its money at max settings with ray tracing enabled, having no frame generation at all throughout the entire playthrough on a 1440p monitor. If you're on the fence about buying Silent Hill 2 Remake, do yourself a favor and pick this up and support Bloober Team's hard work even if it isn't on sale, as it's more than worth it; if anything, YOU'RE missing out on not playing Silent Hill 2 Remake... This is my personal G.O.T.Y.

[ P.S. If you are using a RAZER-branded keyboard and have "Razer Synapse" installed on your PC, Silent Hill 2 Remake is listed as a compatible game in "Chroma/Sensa Games" on the "Chroma Workshop" on their website. When playing Silent Hill 2 Remake, the game automatically takes over my keyboard's lighting using what RAZER calls "Razer Sensa HD Haptics," so according to RAZER, over 40+ effects took control over my keyboard's lighting through things such as cut scenes and/or actions I performed in-game throughout the game, changing the more I progressed. Just goes to show how much love Bloober Team poured into this remake. ]
