Cereal is a soup. In polish cuisine there is a dish called zupka mleczna, or milk soup, which is a "sweet soup based on milk and cereal or flour products", "usually eaten for breakfast". Due to the pre-existing existence of a sweet, sometimes cold, cereal-milk based breakfast item in a well-known culture, cereal can definitively be declared a soup.
