an exceptional platforming-focused metroidvania with innovative unique mechanics and a beautiful world. i think i still like it more than the sequel, which adopts a more traditional form of metroidvania gameplay for better and for worse. it certainly stands out more i think. if you're even slightly interested in metroidvanias you gotta try this one out.

alright ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game was good. the story is a bit here and there but man if you liked metroid you have to get this game.

i thought this game was still alright when they took away the skill tree. there was still a way tp get the rarest items, but now they have items locked behind premium. they locked the gamemodes behind the levels to get you to buy premium. i do not recomend this game.

a fantastic class-based shooter with solid design and many arena shooter style mechanics. while its been neglected for other valve titles in recent years, the combined 10 years of content on top of an already solid game makes a masterfully crafted deep experience. there's a good reason thousands of community members put blood, sweat, and tears making all sorts of great content for this game. Its literally free, the only reason you shouldn't at least try it is because you might never leave. just stay away from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unmoderated valve servers, and find a nice community server like the good ol' days.
