I opened it up only to find one of the most amature UI's i've ever seen in my entire life. It looked significantly worse than RPG maker games that are free. Changed the settings (all two options) from full screen to windowed. Clicked new game and noticed a few things. I simply cannot emphasise how comically terrible the UI is.

https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2824870322 My own screenshots would not work for some reason with this game. Someone else however did get an image.

The game somehow looked worse than the 95 version. I have NO IDEA how they managed it and frustratingly it's hard to explain. It just, does look worse. Maybe cleaning it up in certain areas ruined the art style or simply they cleaned it up poorly. Personally I can't point my finger at any specific thing but, it just looked weird.

I found after alt-tabbing that the game had not saved the borderless windowed change I did. I tried again and realized it did not the next time. Only to notice, that the "accept" button for the resolution change had broken text.

I'm surprised, Nightdive usually put a lot of work into their remakes but this is absolutely unacceptable. Within less than 15 minutes, I encountered clunky controls, bad visual changes and multiple bugs. How did you mess this up so much? I literally went to the options menu for a minute, clicked new game and encountered so much weird jank.

Refunded and extremely disappointed that Nightdive thought it was acceptable to release in such a humiliating state.

Edit: I know some will explain that you still get the original version for free with it. That's not an excuse. They want 8 euro's for the enhanced version, not 5 euros for the classical version. I am being sold the enhanced version and that is what I will review.
