ORIGINAL REVIEW after few hours of gameplay:

This game is MAGIC.
And there is nothing else to say about it.

NEW REVIEW at game completed (all side quests too).

The enthusiasm at the beginning was incredible because the best part of the game is the scenography and the setting and hogwarts is just amazing and also hogsmeade. At the beginning you're thrown in the Gringott bank too. Also at the beginning there's a little bit of immersion in the school too and you have the sensation to be part of it because of some quests (e.g. duels club) and the very first lessons which have minigames.

BUT THEN, the game just forgets entirely that hogwarts is a school and the actual most part of the game will be outside of it. Even the side quests you'll get in Hogwarts later on will just lead you outside. The immersion is COMPLETELY CUT off as you can do whatever in the school even at night and the only thing remained to do in the school will be to collect collectibles that's it. There are few secrets to be discovered okay, but that's it.

Immersion completely cut off also when you learn the unforgivable curses and then you just use them when you have the professors or the friends around and they don't say ANYTHING.

For the gameplay: I was so f***ing excited at the beginning, having so much fun during the combats. BUT also here it gets boring quite quickly because you're just overpowered big time. So yeah you'll learn more spells but the mechanics won't really change. Also the skill tree and development seem kinda useless, it doesn't add up mechanics and it feels useless also because of how much easy it is.

There was sooo much potential in this game. They had in the hands a nice graphic engine and many nice ideas (pets and animals and personalization) but all wasted in a useless main plot that is banal and dull and wiithout any immersion whatsoever.

it needs more RPG elements, a nice plot and more true Harry Potter syle quests and immersion.

Vote 6.5/10
