10/10 its rimworld, did you expect anything less?

Its a good game with several flaws that mods mostly fix. A lot of it is an improvement from MoW AS2, some of it isnt. If you like this genre, you will probably like this game. The one thing I will say is I would have rather seen british and italian armies added, and perhaps a north africa style campaign, rather than the upcoming airborne DLC when we already have liberation. There are mods for this as well but the mods for units are still lacking imo.

I feel as though I should rate this down just because its ubisoft, and their whole "players dont own the game" stuff really makes me angry. But honestly, the game is pretty decent. Theyve got some big names in the library, and for me personally, I dont mind hearing songs from the band no ones ever heard of, its how you discover new music to listen to. The game also functions very well, and though my time so far is brief, I have yet to encounter any issues.

As for the sbscription service and de listing RS 2014 and RS1, I get it. Again, I dont agree with ubisofts whole the player owns nothing crap, but I can see a subscription service being the best way to provide a game like this. Its still cheaper than music lessons, which is good because its also not quite as good as them either imo. And it should allow them to continue to grow the library of songs even bigger yet, with both big names and nobodies. Which brings me to cancelling RS1 and 2014. I dont think they did it to force everyone to upgrade. I know that sounds crazy, because its ubisoft, but I think they only did it to tie up any further money pits, such as continued licensing costs, so that more funds go into RS+. Besides, you can still get both games in other places.

Now one last bit. The library. There are some songs on there that shocked me they even thought of, and others that I cant believe are missing. Some of the versions arent great either, and some songs have several versions. If you are REALLY into music, then having a lot of no name filler is no problem. As for covers of songs, I honestly havent found that there are too many covers, if anything there are more uncommon versions by the original artist, rather than covers of songs. Are there 1000s of songs youll never even notice or get to? Sure there are. And like I said, some songs Id really expect to see, especially popular ones from the previous games, arent there. But there is PLENTY of poplar songs to keep you busy, if thats all your looking for. And more being added constantly. In my 3 hours of play time, probably 1.5 of it was spent just surfing the library. Now, it is Ubi, so naturally they boast about having such a crazy big library, which it is. However, they cheat a bit by putting the same song in multiple genre tabs, and like I said some songs have 2 and 3 versions of the same song by the original artist, and possibly a cover by someone else to boot.

Long story short, its $20 a month. If it was an FPS or RTS or something, Id be screaming about the subscription too. But because it involves music, which in turn involves licensing, it gets a pass in my book. I pay $30 a week for in person music lessons, too. All of this said, I still stand with anyone who wants to down vote this game because of the subscription fee, because I still dont agree with ubisofts mentality about it in general at all.

10/10 cant wait to feel like dying trying to unlock everything again

EDIT 11/20/2023 Changed my review to not recommended... its a great game, but after hours of play time its become obvious that this game has the EXACT same problem as the first. You get just so far playing with friends, and then you get disconnected. Usually it happens somewhere during the first or second repeat stage, or on the final stage/boss battle. Like i said its a great game, but with no re joining mid game it gets old not being able to play with out eventually getting disconnected. Ill change my review if they ever fix it.

The performance is one thing. Its trash, 15 fps on the MENU before changing graphics, 30 after, with a 1660ti. But what kills me is how often this game breaks. Bring up the steam overlay? Oh well your keyboard no longer functions in game. The abundance of visual glitches with roads is crazy. The cursor is so weird, its like its off to the side, which makes building tough at times. On top of that I love all the info it gives you building roads and such, but making grids is a bit harder in this game than the old one due to too much info, and not all the right info. Other than that, I love all the additions and will change my review when they fix this stuff. For now, take a pass and wait till paradox fixes their game. (Which they will, this is typical paradox. Release a game un-optimized and half broken, then spend 6 months making it good again.)

10/10 is 1st person papers please. I also agree adding at least women/wives and multiple passengers per car would be awesome... children might cross a line but Im for that too if the devs are lmao

PSA: THIS IS FOR PARTY GAMES ONLY I HAVE NOT PLAYED THE STORY YET


In 30 minutes time i can already say the development of this game was lazy. They say its a remaster of one two and deluxe. Well the party games arent great. The controls seem to lag, there are no AI for any of the party games like race, and the graphics feel worse than the gamecube counter parts somehow. The voice acting is bad, and for those of you who only played the party games for target, prepare to be disappointed. They even removed the voice we all know and love that used to say what round it was. The mechanics on target and bowling are especially frustrating. In bowling, any spin will almost toss you off the map and with target speed is almost impossible to maintain, making just getting to the target very hard not to mention using the old tricks to try to "pick" your landing spot. Baseball is just plain broken, almost impossible to bat the ball and if you do it hardly goes far enough to count. Billiards is way over complicated and also extremely wonky. Hm, what else.... Oh yea soccer is almost fun, but once again the mechanics and controls get in the way.

Long story short, its a huge let down. Maybe theyll fix it, maybe they wont but for now i dont even recommend it on sale unless you like reget, disappointment and depression.
