It's not BAD... but I just got bored after completing the first (tutorial) dungeon. The movement is slow/clunky and the visuals aren't particularly pleasing.

Starts out OK, but never really feels good to play. Sparse equipment and largely useless crafting feels like padding to make the game more fleshed out withkut any real thought. The dialogue and story fluctuate in equity and the world biding doesn't seem to come together. When the gameplay is fun, it's great, but then the difficulty spikes can happen and really hamper your progression. I was pretty far along and hit a boss I couldn't even beat after turning it down to easy, which was a huge frustration.

Could have used some focus testing and more polish before release to really make it good, but unfortunately it doesn't quite stick the landing in "good" territory.

I'd give it maybe a 7/10. The story is lightweight and the dialogue is... off. But the gameplay is (for the most part) really polished. There's also a weird thing where if you navigate between areas too quickly then you can run around in empty space for a moment before it starts to load in.

Also, the difficulty spikes are insane. Even after I dropped it to Easy, some specific fights just wrecked me. I did manage to beat it, though.

I'd say it's worth it on sale if you want an interesting Metroidvania with furries.

Loses momentum around 3-4 hours in and becomes a bit of a slog. Characters and story are pretty good, but not good enough to carry the mediocre gameplay and messy menus.

I liked this game most of the way through and wanted to love it, but the sudden difficulty spike at the end killed the entire experience for me and I can't recommend it. Kind of like Octopath Traveler with the horrible method of achieving the true ending and I just feel like I got burned and it tainted the entire experience for me. I'm glad I at least got this game on a good sale.

Just played it (Oct 2022) for the first time and it's definitely a GOOD game. I wouldn't say it's great, but the story is very interesting.

The gameplay is super polished/clean, but gets samey really quick. Luckily the game is only ~6 hours, so it's not too bad to push through. Though a few of the missions felt unfairly difficult out of nowhere.

The game crashes when attacking the introductory enemy. Nice.

I mean... it's Bioshock. The game is a solid classic.

Though this version is prone to crash if you play for more than 30-40 minutes. At least on both Windows 10 and Linux (Proton) for me when I played. It'd be nice if they fixed that, but you kind of just get used to it.

So it's a soft thumbs-up.

It definitely feels unfinished. To the point where the interactions are barely confined by the visual boundaries of the environment. Played for less than 20 minutes because I just couldn't take it anymore. Picked it up because it looked cute/relaxing and either cheap or with a bundle (I forget), but it's neither cute or relaxing once in-game and trying to actually play.

The story is OK, but the pacing and structure feels lazy. Actual story content (like if I plowed through the dungeons without the grind in NG+) is probably around 5 -7 hours, but it took me over 40 to complete. This wouldn't be so bad if the dungeons were a little more creative, or if they properly introduced different gameplay aspects. I had no idea there were normal requests in town from a vendor until I was near the final dungeon! Not sure what I missed out on, but I didn't find the game difficult without extra side quests.

*non-spoiler spoiler* The secret/true ending is a bit annoying to get on the first playthrough. I got so close and couldn't figure out how to get it unless I ran through NG+ to get the extra "points", but it's not worth it.

Overall, this was disappointing. Might be the first SMT game I'd have to give a negative rating to.
