I don't even usually like collect-a-thon games, but this hooked me almost immediately with the visual style and super polished gameplay controls. Impressive.

It's actually pretty fun for a while, but eventually gets brutally difficult. I mean, I got all of the optional objectives and thought I was doing well, but somehow still had an F grade at the end of a level so it wasn't completable. That's pretty insane.

This is a very soft "not recommend", because the game is just OK. I got passed the first couple areas, but wasn't compelled to continue since I died (failed a jump over instant death), it crashed the game, then I had to start over at the beginning of the section and I found myself not willing to re-play those minutes.

It's not BAD, but even buying it for under $10 still wasn't quite worth it for myself for something that was "just ok".

It's fine. 7/10. Not good enough for me to try for multiple endings, but it gets the job done as a straightforward Metroidvania/RPG/Action-Platformer.

One of my favorite FPS series. Even with the more difficult setup of this original game (limited ammo, ammo is also currency, etc) it's SO WELL DONE. Though back in the day it used to make my PC melt, it was still an unforgettable experience.

This was my first game in the Mafia series and I fell in love with the characters (the ending is so great). Not overly difficult and it keeps the pace up nicely throughout.

It's a fun time killer and the variety of arcade minigames is awesome.

It's a fun game for a while with great controls and animations, but man it could really use a map or something. Wandering around aimlessly for 15-20 minutes in the wrong area ends up being significantly not fun. If it gets some "quality of life" improvements, I can see this really being something.

"5 hours of competence" was used in a review article and I think that is apt. The game looks beautiful, but it's nothing more than "well executed" in all areas and doesn't excel anywhere. I didn't even end up beating it because it just got boring after a while and it's never fun when a game like this slowly becomes a chore.

Saying that; I would give this something in the range of 5-6/10 and would only recommend it on a steep sale.

After enjoying the first game, it was really disappointing how bad the second episode was. The game took the worst aspects of the combat from the first game and amplified them greatly. Basically; the short play time is only as long as it is because you have slow attacks, it takes several hits to hill enemies and you move slowly. If it was sped up slightly and you had normal encounters that weren't each painfully difficult AND painfully slow, it'd probably be maybe an hour worth of content. I didn't even finish this one and do not look forward to episode 3 because I can only imagine it getting worse.

I mean, what's the point of your strongest attack being you normal non-energized beam sword? It's a slog just to get part way through (I got to the temple/castle/ruins and ran into punishing enemies) and I couldn't take it anymore.
