What a ride. I loved every minute of it. Took about 77hrs on 2nd hardest difficulty as a mage + completing all side quests.

Game is much more action combat over strategy. There's still directing allies to do attacks, but it's more-so combo attacks for bonus damage or player buffs.

Overall, the story was exciting and it really felt like it was gonna cliff hanger and say, "see you in the next game," but it keeps going and it keeps getting better.

Characters were engaging each with their own personality, goals, motivations, and story-lines. Loved getting to know them and seeing how the developed.

The visuals, cutscenes, and combat were all exciting and engaging. Additionally, playing choice felt meaningful, the things I did and said helped shape events in the future.

Actually a ton of fun. If you love bullet hells or raid fights in MMOs. There's a lot of keep track of in this adorably cute and funny game. Found the demo to be a lot easier than the full game. Even on normal (2nd lowest of 4 difficulties) things get chaotic, so Steel Yourself!

There's online play and couch co-op.

Update: This game be played entirely solo or co-op. It's fun playing with a friend(s) and trying to coordinate, but comms are not necessary to beat fights. So playing online with others is still a good time. Solo play has special versions of each fight, so the encounters will be kinda same but different.

If you're an FFXIV raider, you'll be right at home here.

Ton of fun
**highly recommend controller**

If you like the Granblue series, anime, monster hunter, or games like bayonetta and dmc.
This game is wonderful.

Story mode is fairly short for an RPG (10-20 hours), but there's a lot of post-story content.
Each character has a different playstyle and is capable of being a powerhouse, so there's no "meta pick."
Characters to level up, talent trees to level, gear to max out, & sigils for bonus stats.

There's an end-game grind similar to monster hunter. Replaying missions in order to get materials to upgrade sigils and weapons.

With online players, these missions can be really fast.
For offline players, the AI for your party members is actually really good. You'll just have to work to gear 3 additional members.

Free content updates are coming with new fights, characters, and more.

The game is incredibly fun!
It's a wholly original game from a AAA dev that is actually quality.
It's worth the shot.

Actual review:

I understand people being upset cuz they're tired of hearing live service, battlepass, online only, lootboxes, full price.

This game actually delivers though.
Other people may have bought Overwatch 1 when it was $40 or $60 and this game has more content and planned content than that.

This game is also following Capcom's Monster Hunter route and having title updates that deliver new content and collabs every 3 months for no additional charge.

Exoprimal is not a quick cash grab with subpar gameplay and mechanics.

This game is actually well put together with a solid foundation to stand; backed well reputable developer that has been putting out quality content for a while now.

The gameplay loop is fantastic.
Trust me PvPvE is not as scary as it sounds. The game's main focus is to complete objectives faster than the enemy team. Only during certain final stage events will enemy players be able to engage in combat. There's no TDM. It's all about completing your team's objective first and they really nailed it on making that part fun!

Controls are tight. Taking down waves of dinos is fun as hell. The story is actually engaging and has enough wtf that it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Only gripe is the game doesn't give little hints in the tutorial such as: Pressing F1 or Down on D-Pad shows details about your current exosuits abilities. Also, players only need to complete the specific task at the top center of the HUD in order to progress.

Overall, this game is absolutely worth it. It's sad that people are hating on it cuz of how the gaming industry is unfortunately going or the ppl upset it's not Dino Crisis or EDF.

Exoprimal is fantastic. If you can't or don't wanna afford the $60 on Steam (it is pricey) definitely check it out on Gamepass in the windows store. Due know, there's no cross party system. Players can only invite to their own ecosystem.

Actually having a blast playing this. Glad there's a bunch of exosuits to pick from and the different modes even if you get the same map is fun. Very interesting game, looking forward to full release.

TL;DR - When it doesn't crash, it's a fun game. Better in co-op imo.

It's a good game. People compare this to the Arkham Series even though they're different devs. Combat is similar to the Arkham series but more in common with Spider-Man. Two attack buttons and special attacks can be performed when enough energy is had; dodge when you see the indicators. The characters are well done and the suits to collect are cool. Exploring the open world is alright. There's 3 modes of travel which is redundant imo, but unique to each character. None of them are exciting but Red Hood's is definitely the most convenient.

The co-op experience is a nice touch. It's pretty fun coordinating with a buddy to clear out an area with stealth. Players aren't required to be in range of each other. Both players can clean the streets of Gotham solo and the experience is shared. Mission progress is also completed for both players so the joining player doesn't need to repeat missions when playing solo.

The game could use more refinement in movement. Sometimes it feels like you're just stuck on a ledge or moving awkwardly for no reason. Biggest issue with the game is crashing. Seemingly random and for no reason the game will kick back to the desktop with no error code. No stuttering or freezing, just back to the desktop. Unfortunately that's the biggest mood killer for playing this game.

"You can go as far as you want, but you can never go back."

The phrase that has stuck with me from this lovely little game.

Everything Supergiant makes is gold.
It's a very text heavy adventure compared to their other games. Most of the game will be through dialogue or the tome which is almost 200 pages of lore and history.
You grow to care about each of the characters on your team and the decision on who to or not to liberate starts to weigh heavy on the conscience.
The game part is 3 v 3 getting the ball in your opponents pyre (goal). Rules are only 1 character can move at a time, attacks knock a player out for X amount of time, and you can pass at any distance. It can be pretty difficult at first but gets pretty intense latter on.

Absolutely a gem of a game from a fantastic developer.

Better than the movies!
Fantastic game from the writing of the characters to the combat to the music and the adventure in total.
Drax and Gamora feel like they should. Actually powerful and live up to their reputations.
So much banter between the character I HIGHLY recommend walking from event to event.
It's paced perfectly to hear the conversations between characters vs running. It's a really nice touch to the game.
Absolutely recommend this game!

I was extremely excited to see new content come to this amazing game, but this ain't it.

The void is the biggest annoyance to the game. Massive damage fields in regular stages that summon monsters who are basically overloading enemies with a damage negation shield. Most of the void items are lackluster, simply changing established items to having an opposite effect. Example: mushrooms now proc while sprinting only, will-o-wisps proc immediately on full hp enemies only.

Many of the additional items added simply enhance previous mediocre items or don't have much imagination behind them. Examples: Mocha: increase attack speed and movement speed half of SS and PGH. Ignition Tank: ignite effects deal 300% DoT. Roll of Pennies: Taking damage gives money. This feels like Hopoo just padded their number of items when they simply could improve previous items or make imaginative new ones.

Right now, I'm not satisfied with this expansion. Glad there's an option to turn it off.
