Man this game is so close to being a really good game.

The first 8 hrs i thought it was going to be one of my top souls-likes.

Pros
- Pretty Visuals
- Visual effects are really nice to look at... most of the time
- The umbral was really well done, mechanically, designed, and visually
- The story actually gets told to you a bit more straightforward which I really appreciated it. I really liked the umbral memory echos
- Combat feels great, when dodge and camera/lock on are working
- The game was a lot of fun in the first act when you were discovering things and didnt know what to expect
- Level Design wasn't great but for the most part was pretty good, especially the parts that had good mixes of the real world and umbral

Cons
- AN EXTREME LACK OF ENEMIES - You are fighting the same 12 enemies the whole game. Man is it a drag after 10 hrs.
- Artificial difficulty increase which goes against the spirit of a souls like -- since you fight the same enemies they just buff their health and damage. To the point 2 shotting you is how they are now difficult
- The game is extremely easy. There wasn't a single enemy or boss the whole game i feared.
- Dodge just randomly will break. And go in the wrong dirrection and will get you killed.
- Lock on/camera is very poor and basic, will get you killed so often,
- Theres a pretty big lack of polish and bugs across the board which is surprising because of how visually good the environment is and vfx. and how good the combat feels. Especially for a game getting actively updated for over a year.
- Character models are a little lacking, for some reason heads are a little too big?
- Quest Design is very annoying and can lead to very poor or annoying results. Bucketlord... should not be in the game even though i love his idea.
- The final boss Adyr. Is one of the worst bosses I've seen designed. Visually he is kinda ugly. This goes back into that character models look a bit cartoony sometimes.
- It never really felt like the "main quest" was actually a thing, it weirdly felt disjointed or disconnected from the rest of whats happening in the world. It was also a really weird decision to not have the player visit Adyrs Hand like in the first game. Even though the first game is actual crap.
