I thought this game was shallow and a waste of my money when I first got it during launch.
Since then, Hello Games has pulled off a FFXIV-esque turnaround. Its now vibrant, deep and full of content that will keep you occupied for weeks, AND they're still working on it. I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who loves space, spaceships and exploration.
