I like Outriders and the time invested so far can attest to that. But unfortunately I cannot recommend such a bug ridden game to anyone in good conscience. I will not go through the many bugs encountered, as other reviews have done so more eloquently than I could ever do. For me though, two game breaking bugs forced me to stop playing:

- The _constant_ disconnections from the server. When I am playing solo, why is there a need for an always ON connection? There is nothing more disheartening than having gone through an expedition and at the last moment you get disconnected without any loot drops or resources to show for it. And it happens A LOT!

- Co-op gaming is so buggy, I spent more time trying to connect to friends' games and via versa, rather than actually playing. Often when a connection is established, and a party has formed, a crash to the desktop follows. And today my inventory was wiped clean after such a crash for a good measure.

Most of my friends are so fed up and annoyed with Outriders, that stopped playing some time ago, some even mid-campaign. Having lost all my items is a sign that I must move on too and a warning to all that still play this buggy mess, that this could happen to you at any time, so beware.

@drcoolness Because you DO sound like "that guy" (see troll), here's a great video from YongYea's YouTube channel that summarises the current state of affairs for Outriders. Perhaps after watching this, you could add your own "constructive" feedback from your gameplay experience(s) and will not be "that guy" anymore. Enjoy!

I am sorry, I truly do not want to sound like that guy. But I kind of have to. Nothing more in the world of gaming scratches me the wrong way then the person who sinks over one hundred hours into a game, uses the same line to open there review. I like this game and enjoyed my time and spent over 6,000 minutes playing it. No, no, no, but you I could not suggest torturing yourself playing said game. Thumbs down huh? Well the time clock of the review says the game couldn't have been so buggy and ran so much like poop that you just could not play it. Suggestion, thumbs up, open with disclaimer such as, I did enjoy putting in 2 1/2 weeks of full time work or 2 weeks for us shop rats into this game. I do feel I should mention there are a lot of pain in the neck bugs but as you can see by the game clock couldn't have game breaking. But it does not run smooth as glass.

Nice review, negative reviews to me deserve words that show why the game itsself was voted negativly from game breaking bugs to gameplay and pros and cons u did a good job with that, u lead me to believe outsiders is worth buying. just wait for all the bugs to be ironed out.

@Setorrs The Lollygagger Your comment made me laugh; with the perfect amount of sarcasm and wink wink afterthoughts, I thought it was time I responded to the feedback ;-)

In all seriousness, I did enjoy the Outriders campaign (twice) and ploughed through the bugs, which I am sure will be fixed (given time...) but the always ON required connection for solo playthrough and the invasive kernel level "protection" for what is a PvE/co-op type of game, was and still is off-putting big time.

This review was an honest opinion of my experiences and I thought I did Outriders justice by putting the time and effort to explore all aspects of the game, with different alts and builds and 100% it (well 99.7%). There was no intention or implication in dissuading anyone from buying or playing it besides the need to add my view to the pot.

Perhaps, when the bugs have been fixed, I'll return for more, the same way I promised myself I will do with Cyberpunk 2077... just in time for retirement.

It's not a bug it's a feature. Think of the inventory wipe as a way to start over and enjoy the story again. /s
