Clock in, champ, it's time to go recover research data to protect the Group's substantial investment in Neuras. That corpse re-animating IP isn't going to protect itself!

PROXIMATE is a great subtle horror experience that can be finished off in a single sitting (it took me 90 minutes, exactly as promised!). The core gameplay loop is a bit like stumbling around in an unlit room, but you'll pretty quickly learn the layout of the rooms as you traverse them, which turns out to be very handy as the story unfolds.

The sparkling gem at the heart of this game is its writing. As you trawl through the underwater research base to find out what happened, you'll be reading research documents, recorded conversations on a chat platform (including amusingly-realistic reacts), and every now and then you'll get a call from your employer to see how things are coming along. The writing is fantastic, and it's very rewarding to upload a fresh set of documents to trawl through after one of your trips through the facility.
