Combine a metroidvania with bullet hell, along with amazing art and soundtrack. A lot of detail has been put into the game, which can get surreal at times (in a good way!). Some mild fan service of course. Story is pretty generic, but it's there, and not without its charm.

The thing I'll have to praise the most is combat mechanisms and character control. It's pretty rare for a 2D game to have such fast and responsive controls, and it works extremely well with bullet hell fights. Also, you don't control only one character but two! It's possible to use their powers simultaneously, adding to the overall intensity and skill cap. This works well with the fact this game is HARD, and the only way to finish some boss fights with max score is by actually studying the enemy and practicing.

Overall even when not progressing with the story, it's really fun to just explore around and hit mobs.
