Early Access Review
I enjoyed the first Moonlighter but didn't play too many hours of it. I enjoyed it well enough. After my first 2 hours with this entry I feel like I will enjoy this game more overall. It's quite a bit different in it's style and presentation, but I am enjoying it a lot. I like the art style, hub area, shop and customization. The Hades inspired dungeon runs are fun. I feel like I can chill and play while watching something or listening to a podcast which I enjoy. Look forward to playing more.

Art style and animation is stellar. Combat is so fluid and feels great. I did not finish the demo as I was sold pretty quickly. Crosscode was amazing and this seems to evolve on what was already great. Cannot wait for this game!

Good game. Combat is rough but didn't slow me down as the narrative was interesting enough. The segments in the town were excellent. The setting and detail was outstanding. I was less impressed by the spirit realm segments but still was overall cool. I prefer the games that take place in the town of Silent Hill but this was a bold and interesting deviation. Loved that the game really dug into heavy subject matter. Enemy variety was a bit lacking. If you're the kind of person that loves new game + this has a lot in store for you. I just watched the additional endings as I did not want to grind through multiple times. I recommend the game during a sale!

A great survival horror experience. Loved the sci-fi setting. Think Dead Space meets Silent Hill. A masterful balance of resource management providing enough to keep going while always feeling like you need more. Interesting story that kept me engaged throughout. Usually I skip most of the found articles and lore in games but I read most of them here as I felt invested in the world. Exploration is fun and always rewarding as resources are scarce. Crafting is simple but important. I do feel like there was a missed opportunity with bosses - they aren't bad, but they could have been much better. I really liked Kelly Burke's voice performance as the traveler. Her lines were delivered in a monotone / robotic way that fit the character and tone and her slight lisp gave the mysterious traveler some character that felt human. The audio in this game is amazing and the music is excellent keeping the tension during battles with heartbeat style thumping rhythms and exploration mysterious with synth tracks with stranger things inspiration. I loved all the weapons, especially the ones that charge as they felt very weighty and impactful with cool reload animations. All around an excellent experience that I recommend and will likely play again in the future. Don't let them merge!

Great game! Loved the exploration, interesting world, cool dungeons all supported by great voice acting and a good story. Awesome, moody music that pulls you in. Combat isn't bad but it's not great. Enemy variety is lacking. Neither of these issues slowed me down. The mystery and intrigue kept me playing late into the night.

This game is very very good. I played Fallen Order and enjoyed it but didn't end up finishing it and just watched the remaining cutscenes on youtube. This was different. Everything is a step up and I finished it while also completing a large amount of the side content.

Things I liked...
Exploration, Map, Characters, Character moments, Customization, locations, Story, The town/bar progression and more.

I played this well after release and had no real issues with performance on PC. I felt there is some wonky behaviors in combat with controls and such but it's very minor.

Amazing game. Cannot wait for the third game to see what happens next...

This game hits on almost all cylinders for me. I love the world and exploring it is a blast. The story has me personally intrigued and I found some of the companions to be interesting. The music pulls me further into the world. The gear upgrading, vendors and loot are all simple and do the job with unique gear being the highlight of discovery in the world. There are many well hidden secrets that I felt compelled during my entire play through to seek out. Combat was a step up from past first person fantasy games that I’ve played and I continued to enjoy the game more as I put hours into it. I purchased the Collectors edition so that I was able to play it during a free weekend in my schedule and although I don’t like having to pay for early access it worked well with my schedule and some of the companions do look better in the bonus skins. Overall I had a great time with this game and recommend it to any fan of Fantasy RPG’s and fan of the Pillars universe.

I waited til this went on sale to finally try it. I’m still extremely disappointed after giving it a fair 17hrs. Origins was one of the best RPG’s I’d played at the time and Inquisition was pretty great too. This was atrocious. Dialogue, characters, choices, exploration, combat and loot are all very sub-par. I cannot even believe the game is rated M for mature. Extremely sad to see such a great franchise sink so low.

Wow. Picked this is simply based off of the art style, genre and overwhelmingly positive reviews. I cannot believe how good this game is. Here are some of the highlights for me...

Writing, Exploration, Combat, Graphics, Performance, Story, Detail, Sense of Adventure, Choices Matter, Characters, Interesting Side Quests, Cool Maps, Cool Secrets and the list could go on an on.

I had no idea what I was in for. After playing for 20 hours and only liking it more and more as I go I could easily say this has a place in my top 10 games of all time. So. Damn. Good.

2hrs in and it’s exactly what I hoped for. Weighty souls-like action with an interesting and explorable dark fantasy world all presented with a stunning art style. Can’t wait to see it grow into 1.0.

Update: I now have almost 50 hours in the game. The new Breach update is amazing and the new areas to explore are top tier. So many cool weapons and build options. The Crucible is more involved that I originally assumed and the story is intriguing. By far the coolest art style and animation in any ARPG I have played. Continue to love this game and cannot wait for 1.0.
