Unironically one of the best games of 2024. The game just feels so comfortable, it's giving me some Animal Crossing vibes. Sooo addictive and cute, go and try it. Especially if you have friends to play with, but it's really fun playing solo as well. Also you can play with random people too ofc

It is such a wholesome made puzzle game for such a low price, even for a sale. Some levels are not too hard and can be dealed with in a matter of minute, some of them are challenging and may force you to use your brain cells for a good amount of time (at least I'm not that smart huh). Really well-made, should be gifted to a friend or two as well, it is really cheap anyway

Sometimes you're just glad there is such a medium as video games. Truly a work of art, it can change your perception a lot👍

The gameplay of the game may left you frustrated and unsatisfied since it's more about trial and error than skill or understanding the gameplay mechanics, even by playing with the guide there will be many sequences that will be hard to pass through without dying about three or five times. Comparing it to the first game, the save mechanic is an upgrade and a downgrade at the same time – now you can save manually by the statues, and your progress will be saved even after quitting the game (which was a big issue in Night Alone considering its PC port), but automatic saves are completely gone, meaning that if you lose a boss battle, you'll be forced to take the long way back to the beginning of the battle and rewatch cutscenes that can't be skipped. Other than that the game plays pretty much like the previous one, but not in a good way unfortunately. The puzzles are still not that interesting, and most of the game is about constant chases again.

But the story is decent and gloomy. It is still concise like in the first game, but the ending is much more interesting and can leave you wistful and depressed, unlike the ending of Night Alone. I really felt that for the girls in the last chapter. And the art style is a top notch as always, NIS has some awesome artists. Locations looks nice and polished, and the spirits are terrifying. If you are a fan of Japanese folklore – you'll like it.

Overall the gameplay is a mess, but maybe you should give it a try for the story and the atmosphere. I'll play the third game as well to see if it's better than the previous instalments.
