Most of my hours are through the EA app, and I used to play this game a lot when it came out on the PlayStation 4. I feel like there’s always something to do since each character variant levels individually.

My favorite game mode is turf takeover, and when I need to mix things up I have a decent selection of other choices. It's nice that I can play all game modes solo or multiplayer so I can choose to grind out challenges/xp by myself or with other players when I feel the need to do so. Sometimes I just feel like farming enemies in the battleground, which is a customizable private server hub world where you access single and multiplayer content. The customizable areas are pre-set decoration slots in both the plants and zombies bases as well as a titanic landmark decoration offshore from the docks for either the plants or zombies (one or the other at a time).

I also like that the community game mode events are still running almost 10 years after its original release. The most recent one pits the original 4 zombie classes vs the 3 new plant classes in turf takeover, but the events rotate every month so it will always be different than the previous month's. We hope EA brings back the old game modes like Boss hunt or Cats Vs. Dinos, and recently there's been some talk of a community manager sending some info up the chain at EA to take another look at this game and the franchise as a whole due to a recent surge in the player base so keep your fingers crossed.

TL;DR: Good game, might receive new content/updates in 2025 due to surge of new players
