she's the best dragon age game to ME for very personal reasons. reasons being that it lets me play the quirky little necromancer i have always wanted. 10/10 i would leave you all behind for manfred.

I adore this game so much. ♥ I've been waiting for a cozy and relaxing builder that feels intuitive and is also beautiful, and this is it! I might be biased because I love western medieval architecture and castles in general but you can build so many other things in here, like cozy cottages or haunted manors. It's so so relaxing to stop for a bit and work on the daily prompt every day. ♥

I'm so obsessed with this game! There's so much to do and it's really addicting, the world feels vibrant and beautiful, and I really love the characters as well! Jel has definitely stolen my heart though. ♥ The community is also quite friendly and helpful, which is really nice to see! ♥ I haven't done much socialising though and can comfortably play the game solo or with my partner. Cosmetics like outfits and skins are monetised which kinda sucks but all the rest of the content is free, plus there is more to come as the devs keep working on improving the game. It can be a bit buggy sometimes but it hasn't turned me away from the gameplay at all, in fact, it's hard to stop. I am writing this at 3 am and I really really need to go to sleep but as soon as I wake up I will probably jump right back to it because it's my current hyperfixation. And also I need to talk to Jel. I always need to talk to Jel. Comfort game go brrrr.

Ever since I was a kid I loved steampunk and trains and this has both, hello??? I'm so on board??? (*winks with both eyes* see what I did there) LISTEN they are incomprehensible space eldritch horrors to YOU. I play this as a cozy train journey simulator.
10/10 I would toss my crew overboard for my lil' mushroom guy officer in a heartbeat.

Early Access Review
I am so in love with this game! ♡ I literally have to make myself stop playing so I can go to bed and then wake up too early because I am so excited to get back to it that I can't sleep. This morning I just looked at my boyfriend and went "I got too excited again" and he is not even surprised at this point.

This game obviously feels a lot like Stardew Valley, which is quite a natural comparison, but it offers so many QoL improvements and features that are imho lacking in Stardew even now. Favorites include being able to have several outfit presets and pronouns, which personally makes me very very happy. ♡ The art style is absolutely cute and the music is a total bop (like I need this to release somewhere so I can listen to the ost on repeat for hours). And the characters are probably my fave from any farming sim as of yet. They just feel so alive and so wholesome I love them all so much? (Though Hayden has definitely stole my heart and is the reason I got the game). ♡

The overwhelming positive response is so on point, I know it's EA but I'm currently in the middle of summer (remember: no sleep, only play) and I feel like it's not limiting at all, like I haven't hit any hard level caps or anything yet. There's obviously the lack of romance options as of yet but maybe that's a good thing because while I wait I might just be able to reclaim my sleeping schedule.
Though that's certainly not going to happen today.

I'm so in love with this game! ♡
I love the character design so much and how distinctive their personalities are; I already have quite a few favorites (though I love them all). The drink mixing mini game is fun to do and feels more involved than expected. I love the setting a lot as well; as a fantasy and dnd fan it's right up my aley! The quest design system is a really cool mechanic (the recent patch fixed the color-coded issue so you can actually fail this time) and I like that there is an overarching story that you uncover as you go. And the lore!! The world building is so so good and quite detailed; the world really feels alive and dreamy. The great ost certainly helps to tie it up together. Truly a wholesome cozy experience that keeps making me smile. I can't put it down! ♡

Some of the negative reviews mention this game is shallow meanwhile I am here like "Thank god none of those overly complicated mechanics that are present in other farming sims are here."
Tools upgrade immediately, they auto-select when near their respective resource node, the mines are actually fun and so is the combat. This game is so cute and addictive and you can just focus on the myriad of activities on offer without worrying too much about social dynamics.

Now don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the social aspects of farming sims, but I always thought the social dynamic of just giving people gifts was a little silly. Besides, I often ended up stressing over trying to raise everyone's hearts to max and having to track favourite gifts is a hassle. I still prefer farming sims who have that social mechanic, but I feel like as lacklustre as it is in Fae Farm, I actually don't feel like it's a major gripe at all. There are simply so many things to do in the game for it to matter too much.

The decorating aspect and over-all customisation options are pretty detailed. I love all the cute furniture and outfits and the ability to dye them is a welcome change!

The fishing mechanic isn't my fave and I wish there was more crops and flowers to grow but I understand it's something you unlock as you progress.

Over-all I really love this game. It's so much fun and features so many QOL improvements that it's perfect for people who just want to relax and enjoy themselves (for instance, as much as I love farming sims, they can get very stressful). All the while you still get to enjoy that sweet dopamine release from all the exploration, farming, and decorating - just without all the hard work.

TLDR; The game itself is great, like DDDA but better. The only problem for me are the performance issues. I will happily update my review if they get fixed because I love the game in and of itself.

updated 1st day impressions: I have to say that the performance issues really are noticeable, especially for someone who meets the recommended specs. I wouldn't mind lower fps overall if it was stable, unfortunately, it's quite frequent for me to get fps drops in towns and the city. I just kind of got used to it by now because otherwise I am enjoying the game immensely.

The game itself is incredibly good. It really feels like a dragon's dogma game to me. The vibes are here. Ddda is so incredibly important to me and this game really matches that feeling of nostalgia. It's like. I know this game, you know? It feels like home to me. I love that the pawns never shut up, I love that the merchants repeat the same line over and over again. I love the gathering system being the same, I love how the setting feels so familiar. I love the combat and how more intuitive it feels now. I love this game because I loved the first one and this is more of the same thing. It feels like coming home. If you love DDDA you will love this one too.

As for the microtransactions, I am definitely not a fan. I honestly hate them, I do, but I wish people would fact-check before posting negative reviews, as you can get those items (I think except the music dlc) in-game for free with minimal effort.
