The Initrenderer thing is a serious issue, and players shouldn't have to go to the trouble of getting the game to run. Would like to see this fixed.

Can't really give the game a yes until they fix that, I mean, a lot of people can't even play.

EDIT AFTER SEEKERS OF THE STORM RELEASED: I CALLED THE LAUNCH FOR THIS DLC ROCKY HOOO BOY IF ONLY I KNEW THE SILLINESS GEARBOX WOULD THROW INTO THE MIX

A lot of my issues got fixed over time by balance patches, in hindsight this was a pretty solid addition to the game. Railgunner is fantastic, Viend is strong but clunky, items are overall very nice with void items in particular being a really cool mechanic, not necessary to enjoy RoR2, but definitely isn't a bad time at all.

Keep your game downpatched to before the Gearbox bite of 87 and you're in for a treat

Original Review:

Had a very rocky launch, but after some time, it's worth redoing my review.

The survivors are good. Both feel strong and are pretty consistent to get good runs with.

However, Void Fiend feels like he needs some adjustment to his mechanics, as it is overall better to stay in his non corrupted form until you actually want to use it. This seems interesting on paper until you realize you're just pressing a button every few seconds to keep a meter from filling up sooner than you need it. It might be better to just make it an active ability that charges up over time, to encourage more use of the corrupted state.

The new stages added to the rotation are fine, and nowhere near as annoying as the likes of scorched acres.

The new final boss is more or less a one-and-done. I default to Monsoon runs without artifacts, and I've felt no desire to go challenge the Voidling over Mithrix at any point. The lack of an actual ending also does not help, considering it was advertised as such. In reality, it's just another "Fate Unknown" ending.

The void items are overall a good addition, but void seeds/infestors can still be quite annoying, the changes made mitigate this a little, but I've never actually felt the effect of infestors dying on their own.

I'm complaining more than I am complimenting, but that's because I'm actually quite mixed on this expansion. Overall I like the new content, but I've also noticed I don't bother with most of it if I can help it.

But I have yet to ever turn it off, so I must be enjoying it more than I am not. See for yourself, it's not exactly an unreasonable price for most.

Good game.

Better translation, better visuals, and better execution than milk1. Pretty cool.

Neat idea. Gonna go play the sequel.
