Shocked I haven't written this review sooner. One of the best co-op action games I've played, and by far the best first-person melee combat I've ever seen. Some of the best combat in general from any game, to be honest.

Combat and Feel
The animations, sound design, and general feel of the combat is incredibly satisfying. Every impact and cleave is sold perfectly, and carving through hordes of foes is extremely fun. Even the ranged combat is good, solid hit registration and aiming. Each character and career gives a different style of play that can then differ further based on weapon preference, all of which are viable and most feel just as great to use, as far as I've seen.

Difficulty and Co-op
There are multiple difficulties, and the higher ones are significantly challenging. I HIGHLY recommend playing with friends, but even just playing with bots can be fun, especially since the AI characters use the gear and skills that you have equipped on them. I've found it's much more preferable to play with friends or with AI than random players, at least queuing solo.

Progression and Gear
The progression is solid, earning a pick of 3 talents every five levels on a character. You can change these talents anytime between missions. You earn stronger gear the more you collect loot from said missions, and there's a crafting system that lets you scrap unwanted gear and forge the kind of gear you want.

Different Gamemodes
Chaos Wastes creates an entire new way to play beyond the campaign and DLCs (all of which are worth it if you love the core game imo). It creates a longer, roguelike journey that adds some unique progression. A ton of fun, and adds even more replayability.

Characters and Writing
The characters themselves are great, too. The dialogue writing is superb, probably some of the best I've seen, and the characters are deceptively well-developed. They have so many interactions that I'm still occasionally hearing new ones even after hundreds of hours.

Performance
The game looks incredible and runs well, even on my older PC. No major issues.

Can't recommend this game enough if you like some brutal melee combat, or just want an intense co-op action experience. Go kill some filthy rat-men!
