To get the technical issues out of the way, I heard it had a really rough launch, so I didn't start playing until a few weeks after I got it. Then, I ran into an issue that prevented me from one of the side mechanics of the game, so I took a break. Now, though, the game is in a much more stable state, so I can definitely recommend it.

I 100%ed the first game because I loved it so much, did the same here because I loved it even more.

They not only expanded on everything that was great about the first game, but added SO MUCH more. I was amazed at how big the game kept getting, between locations, enemies, types of collectibles, character stories and lore, side quests, even a pretty fun mini-game. I called the previous game an "almost souls-like metroidvania", and while those elements are still there, it's evolved into much more.

I absolutely love a game that has a hub that you build and collect things in over time, and this game is such a good example of it.

But most importantly, the combat is fantastic as ever. There are even more fighting styles than the first and multiple skill trees that really let you focus on a playstyle that's best for you. They all play very differently from each other, but they're all viable and fun.

The customization also needs to be mentioned, because the first game was pretty simple - clothes color, poncho color, droid color, ship color, then customizing your lightsaber was more in-depth. WOW they really kicked it up a notch for this game, the customization is SO much deeper for both your outfit and equipment. It's excellent, and I never see two people with the same customization choices.

And finally, the story. I really liked the first game's story, and this one continues it well and is even improved. I don't want to give too much away, but it has a decent bit of nuance that's usually lacking in Star Wars stuff, and some moments that genuinely had me practically cheering or gasping.

New Game+ looks like it has some fun options. Might do that later.

Solid recommendation. 9.6/10
