Absolutely worth your time, absolutely worth your money. This is an amazing shooter, simple and balanced and just incredible all around. It's not so simple that there is no improving, the skill ceiling is so much higher than you would think after you first start playing.

Amazing indie game beating out the vast majority of AAA shooters.

Possibly the best shooter rogue-like. Could be one of the best 3D rogue-likes. it is difficult, and you will need the wiki to understand some of the items and underlying concepts like proc coefficients. If you don't mind wiki-surfing occasionally this game is amazing.

I think this game reasonably gets a bad reputation just because of it's release. However, CDPR and the community have been working hard to make this game so much better than it was on release.

The game is stunning, the world is detailed and extremely well made. Admittedly the story has some meh points, but there is a surprising amount of endings, of which all are made possible by choices throughout your playthrough. And the gameplay is fun enough to where I felt it reasonable to 100% this game, and I don't regret it.

This game is worth $60, though only if you take the effort to look through and get some mods. My hope is the next update, which should come out within 2023 will change that. If you don't like modding, wait for a sale. If you don't mind it, go for it now.

Although the game is still in early access, my friend and I have fallen in love with this game already. It's far from perfect, but has amazing potential, and is absolutely worth the price they ask for, even now

Cons:
- Buggy as all hell, duping, glitching through walls and floors, getting places you shouldn't be. Expect cyberpunk level bugs, though most are kinda j endearing
- Unfinished, obviously the story is a little iffy, and there are a lot of important things missing (log sleds)
- Unbalanced, this is my biggest gripe. Before the mid game / end game the enemies do way too much damage and have way to much health (relative to early weapons) Maxed armor is damn near required to live on hard mode, and bows are practically useless by mid game.

Pros:
- Gorgeous, and I mean it. A game this stunning and is insane coming from an indie studio. The clouds are the best I've ever seen in any game, and the forests feel insanely realistic. This alone was enough to make me love the game
- Entertaining, just like The Forest this game has so much to do and explore, even though it's unfinished, my friend and I have put 20 hours into this game already and I barely felt that time pass.
- The new building system, this is probably the biggest change compared to The Forest. Although it is missing some things that were really helpful before, (log sleds, lots of furniture, some storage systems), the building is rewarding in exactly the way capitalism is not. Explaining it would ruin it, if you like building, this game is perfect.
- Consistent updates, admittedly it's a little preemptive to mark this point, but the fact that Endnight did it for The Forest, and the update counter in the corner makes me comfortable enough to write this, it's rare for game studios to be this consistent, especially indie, and It makes me so hopeful for the future of this game

T.L.D.R.: This game is absolutely worth it, now and for the future investment of the updates, but expect some bugs and missing content. It is early access, but easily the best early access in the last year

Never expected this game to get nearly as much love as it has received. It has insane amounts of content to work through, frequent community events, and frequent updates.

Expect to need to make your own goals however. The main story line is absolutely not the main focus, its the exploration and your personal goals. Always keep that in mind while playing.

Update: The most recent update has really messed with the feel of this game. Hello Games had made a comeback, and personally they have since ruined it for me. The newest update has added more bugs and annoying features than helpful ones, and they have seriously hurt the games QoL. Wait until the next update to decide on this game.

This game is an absolute masterpiece. Never in my life have I been so compelled to play and complete a game. It's music is phenomenal. The central game-play is perfected. The story is, admittedly sorta blurry, but extremely unique and interesting. I wholly plan to complete every achievement and challenge this game has to offer, regardless of how long it takes.

I have done all the achievements (and some) I would pay $60 for this game in a heartbeat

Just after one play through this game is already better than the original Emily is Away The emotional toying this game does is intense, and although it didn't end with as hard as a hit as some other games I've played, The emotional roller coaster I just went through is insane.

Spoiler for Emily ending:
♥♥♥♥ you Jeff you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'm going to do a whole play through of making your life hell.

Note: I played the Enhanced Edition of this game, it doesn't count the hours towards this review or the normal game. I played ~40 hours of Metro Exodus, and it was one playthrough.

This game is truly a work of art. I have never played the other Metro games, and I was not really a fan of a lot of post-apocalyptic games like Fallout 4. However, this game has proved that games can be so much better than they are. I played on hard difficulty and felt it was just right for me, there was plenty of challenge, but if I prepared myself for a gunfight I could handle it. The gunplay is shockingly fun, and reminds me almost of a mix between Escape From Tarkov and Rust.

The guns feel powerful and have an amazing sound. The recoil is light, however I've put lots of time into multiplayer shooters, so it's understandable that a PvE might lighten the skill requirements. The attachment system in the game has got to be one of the best I have seen in any game, some attachments are strict upgrades, others are a multitude of side-grades with their own niche uses; this also applies to armor upgrades.

The story is one of the best in any game. I have never once been so invested in video game characters, and as much as I would love to rant about the end of the story, I don't want to spoil it. The characters are well developed and feel human, including yours. This and the amazing landscapes made make it incredibly easy to play the game as the character you want to be. the choices in the game do feel somewhat fake, but I still felt that I could choose between role-playing as Artyom or choosing to be my own character.

I could not reccomend this game more, whether you like story-rich games, or high intensity shooters, this game is perfect. If confronted again, I would buy it with or without sale, no question.
