I really tried very hard to like this game. I'm a long time Dragon Age fan and was eagerly awaiting this release. Even when a lot of negative reviews were releasing, I continued to hold faith. After my first session with having my hands on the game myself, I tried really hard to find things about it that I like.

To be fair, I can't say there's nothing to like here. Although it's not what I have come to expect from a Dragon Age game, the combat system itself is relatively fun. The visual fidelity of the world is very nice to look at, and the game is optimized EXTREMELY well. In my 6 hours of gameplay, I did not encounter a single stutter or bug of any kind. I sincerely mean it when I say that the team responsible for handling the games technical performance have done a REMARKABLE job! I can only hope that other games are released to this same technical standard.

That all being said, this is not a Dragon Age game. Dragon Age is supposed to be a Dark Fantasy series, and there is absolutely nothing dark about this game whatsoever. The dialogue feels so out of place with the rest of the world. The traversal around the map is extremely clunky and annoying.

Maybe I wouldn't dislike the game so much if it was called something else, however I can't help but feel like the writers had not actually played the previous installments of the game. The tone of this game is so completely incompatible with the rest of the universe.

If you're looking for a light hearted action RPG that feels like it belongs in the marvel cinematic universe, then perhaps this game is for you. If you came here looking to play Dragon Age, don't bother.

Easily my favorite game of all time. I had high expectations coming into this game, but somehow they managed to be exceeded anyway.

I so rarely leave reviews on games, but I thought this one warrants one. This game is absolutely breath taking. I'm not typically one to fawn over beautiful graphics, however both the graphical fidelity and general art direction of this game is positively stunning. The storyline and horror elements are expertly crafted. Basically, I am mostly parroting what other reviewers have said previously, though it is certainly all true.

On one hand, $30 doesn't seem like a great value proposition for a game that I completed in just over 4 hours. However, I am going to be thinking about and talking about this game for quite some time I think, so I am going to say that it is absolutely worth it. If this game goes on sale, it is an absolute no brainer, but if you don't have to worry about spending $30 and are looking for a game that will fully immerse you in a dark fairytale universe and bring you nearly to tears ... please buy this game.

Pros :

- Great looking pixel art
- Smooth and well designed client
- Usually very little if any lag
- Small dev team who interact directly with the community

Cons :

- Really terrible drop rates, making a formula that's already grindy ... even more grindy.
- Not enough unique content.
- Bad new player experience, unless said new player already has experience with ROTMG.

Summary :

Is the game fun? I guess, for a little while at least. I enjoyed the game for a time, but quickly realized I was getting bored. Much like ROTMG, the game seems to incentivize steam rolling content with a mass of players, but the drop rates are SO low that it's generally not even worth playing with others unless you're a maxed character that can pump out a lot of DPS.
This generally means that as a new player without good equipment or a maxed character, your best bet to actually progress is to solo dungeons.

After having spent hundreds of hours over the years playing ROTMG I figured that I would be spending a lot of time here. In the game's current state, I don't think I have much intention of spending more time here. That being said, the game is still currently in its infancy, so perhaps more content will be added and changes will be made that will entice me to return.

If you are the type of gamer that enjoys repeating the same boring content over and over again for little to no actual reward, than this might be the perfect game for you. If you're like me and don't have a lot of time to spend playing games and want to feel like you're not just treading water for hours on end, I suggest you pass on this one.

Early Access Review
Highly addictive gameplay - huge replay value for only $3. Would highly recommend. Really looking forward to new content being added.

I played a lot of DoomRL several years ago and was in love with it. Forgot all about it until Jupiter Hell showed up in my Google feed yesterday. I purchased the full game last night, and although I've only gotten a chance to play for about an hour so far, I am thoroughly enjoying myself so far. I rarely take the time to write a review for games, however I already know this is a game I am going to come back to all the time!
