I can definitely recommend this game. Although I would say you only need to buy Broken Alliance and the re-enforcement pack to enjoy everything the game has to offer. Also all you need to 100% achievements.
+Great simultaneous turn based game play.
+More depth than initially appears.
+Polished presentation.

-Although there are a lot of tactics and approaches on the whole you find one and it works, so combat can get a little samey
-Once you have completed the main campaign and broken alliance I don't really see the point of the other expansions.
-There are still some bugs. Raptors will not disarm mines and squadron repair is questionable.

What... A... Game! I've just completed this game and I'm genuinely sad the ride is over. This game will definitely remain one of my favourite games of all time, it is quite simply a flawed masterpiece.

Subnautica is an underwater survival game with an actual story, an objective and truly satisfying ending. I have loved every minute of my adventure and the game absolutely must be played without spoilers and looking at the Wiki. Although I admit after about 50 hours I did select some choice mods that enhanced the overall experience of the game for me (Check out the Nexus). The game does not focus on combat, in fact that is almost non-existent. Really you need to run away and use a handful of choice defensive tactics, this only helped to further enhance the experience for me. A few people have said this game is scary, I wouldn't quite go as far as to say scary but it definitely builds suspense. The soundtrack and sound effects are superb as are the graphics.

Why a flawed masterpiece you ask? Well my criticisms of the game would be a handful of bugs and poor performance. I initially experienced regular crashing with an older AMD graphics driver. I then experienced the game not working at all with an updated driver but I can say it is now stable after the latest catalyst driver 18.6+. All that being said the game runs buttery smooth in isolation but when loading in new terrain the pop-in is noticeable and much worse causes FPS drops even on powerful machines. It is a symptom of the game design however understanding that the game tracks the location of every resource makes you understand why the issue exists and frankly I would rather the design worked that way and handle the slight FPS lag. The only other real bugs I have come across again are related to terrain, either not correct generating (although this is rare) and the very occasional clipping issue when inside the sub that causes me to clip out of it! Again this was occasional.

In summary this is one of the best games I have ever played and I don't say that lightly. I'm going to try and forget some of the locations and play the whole thing again in a few weeks on hardcore mode!!

This game is another classic example of a game that has been stuck in my games backlog for literally years. As other reviews have stated you need to buy the year one survial addition now. However I can genuinely recommend this game as an engaging and enjoyable zombie survival game. Graphically this version, even for the age of the game is poor and the port is clearly not well optimised as it does experience frame drops. However I did not encounter any bugs on my playthorugh of the game. I have completed the game with all achievements (not DLC) and it has taken me 25 hours which I think is a very good enjoyment to cost ratio!

The game mechanics are enjoyable, the combat is fun, the characters are quite memorable and solidly voice acted and it has deceptive levels of depth. If you enjoy survival horror and zombies then I would say either buy year one survival on sale or hold out for the sequal!

Personally I think this game rivals Freelancer on many levels and I loved Freelancer. So for this reason alone it should be a purchase on sale for anyone that enjoyed that game. Just give it a few hours and some effort and you will get drawn in.

Alternatively if you like watching B movies then buy this on sale and play it to listen to literally the worst voice acting I have ever heard in my entire life. As a particular treat the absolute worst actor the profession has to offer is actually the main character in the game. So you can listen to his emotionless, confused, droning voice for the entirety of the campaign. WINNING!

Mad Max is a very well optimised, slick, enjoyable but simplistic 3rd person action game.

Combat is rewarding, albiet simple. Some people enjoy this, other prefer a more complex combat system which is understandable. If you do not enjoy the Batman games this is not for you.

Car combat is fun, with good controls similar to GTA but the physics are not quite on par. Lots of options for destroying and disabling other vehicles.

The game on the whole is a bit of a grind, with repetative side quests. This however is strangly entartaining. I think this is in part due to the design of the landscape and locations. No random generated or cookie cutter camps make each one a new challenge in that respect. Also the graphics and fluid movement of the characters make up for the simplistic combat system

In a sale this game is a 'must buy' for third person action junkies. I have got a solid 60 hours out of this doing lots of side missions and achievements and I have enjoyed it.

I would rate this game a very solid 7/10. Marked down for the repetative nature of the game and boss enemies and a couple of frustrating mechanics (why can I not carry a weapon in a car!).

Really not a game designed to play alone. However with friends sat on the sofa with two or three controllers it's a great way to waste a few hours. Although I only have a small playtime on Steam I bought this because me and my girlfriend used to play this all the time on Xbox and it was crazy cheap!

The game is colourful and beautiful to look at, the graphics really do suit the game well and each area is distinct. The sound effects are solid as is the voice acting. The music fits the game world but it definitely can become repetative after a while. The controls are quite easy to pickup if using a 360 pad and I think it is fair to say that it is designed with this control scheme in mind. The puzzles are not too hard but it does require coordination and decent reflexes when playing together to get where you need to be.

That being said I can understand why people would not enjoy this playing alone. It is easier to play alone as you don't have to worry what someone else is doing so it makes the puzzles a little too calculated to execute and sucks the fun out of it.

If you are going to play alone, to be fair you can likely skip over this title and pickup a single player platform game instead you will get more mileage out of it. However if you want to sit on the couch with some mates, or a partner then this is a really fun game to play.

Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA:Onine should be two seperate games. The reason being is that Grand Theft Auto 5 has quite frankly one of the best acted, best executed storylines I think I have had the pleasure of experiencing in a computer game. It's funny, it's entertaining and the single player gameplay is an absolute blast. The driving physics are fun and allow you to enjoy just cruising around the city and getting from point to point is enjoyable. The gun play is superb and the cover system on the whole works very well.

Criticisms I would level against the gameplay would be that first person view really isn't for GTA if you ask me. I've tried it quite a few times and I just think third person works soo much better. Flying... seriously I have been in a light aircraft and there is not that much turbulance in a flipping hurricane! Seriously it does ruin the flying aspect a bit. The turbulance mechanic makes no sense, it doesn't happen in clouds, over hills it's just random and annoying.

But to summarise the graphics are superb, the sound is superb, the music is superb. Hell as far as I am concerned the whole single player experience is superb! It is a must play 9.5/10 experience.

GTA: Online however. Multiplayer... I've tried it a few times. In honesty it bored me to death. I tried a few modes, I can see how heists would be good fun but with random people on the internet the joy gets sucked right out of that experience pretty quick. Also I found that I got money pretty easily, had a house and some cars. Then I just felt like there wasn't anywhere to go from there. Not to mention that only took me maybe 5 hours of gameplay? Had no trouble with bans although I was in one game and someone made it rain bycles and then dropped cash on my head so I left.

GTA: Online I would personally rate as a thoroughly average gaming experience and if you play the single player first you will definitely be dissappointed IMO. That being said, the game is fantastic if you ignore GTA:O even exists!

I know this came out in 2011 and now it's 2016. In typical Steam fashion I bought this in 2012 in a sale but have been working through a backlog! If you want to know how good this game is, I've just spent £350 to upgrade from an 860k to an i7-4771 just so I can change the shadows from low to ultra.

Possibly the most addicted I've been to a game since Civ5? Also I've never bothered with modding before and this game has opened my eyes to what can be achieved. Added replay value and graphical fedelity way beyond the original release.

If you don't already own this game then buy it right now and take a week off work... your gonna need it.

This is a great open world FPS with an engaging story and fantastic visuals. I found playing this with the controller to be a more enjoyable experience as a lot of the controls are clearly designed for use with the 360 pad. Especially the jumping stealth kills. Unlike many FPS games your character actually speaks and engages with the NPC's and environment which I find makes the game much more immersive. The game features a light RPG element with skill levelling, inventory management and crafting. All of which are done very well and don't feel tacked on or an afterthought.

I have played this game through to completion, my only gripe would be that towards the end taking the final few enemy encampments and towers did feel like a bit of a chore. Early in the game it was all great fun but 30+ hours it does feel a bit like... not another flippin outpost!

Overall I would class this game as a must play for FPS fans, it's a corker!

So you've completed Civ5 a few times and you think your pretty good at 4x games?

Now prepare to get your ass handed to you by Endless Legend on normal difficulty!

I thought I loved Civ5, but then I spent one night with Endless Legend and the seductive temptress that she is. Basically imagine Civ5 but better in basically every way and that is Endless Legend. Now don't take this statement lightly because this is coming form someone who up until I played this game would have said that Civ5 was my No.1 favourite 4x game and arguably my favourite game of the last 5 years. If CivBE was this game, it would have changed the face of 4x gaming.
