Humble Bundle.

This game has a lot of charm. Cute idea, but most of the platforming mechanics do not play any differently than what I've seen before in other games. The way the screen shifts around makes it difficult to control and can cause motion sickness. I will start by saying that I was softlocked in an area due to gaining access with the "defense bot" mechanic. You can just skip huge chunks of level by taking a hit and using i-frames. This game breaking is easily missed by creators, but, for someone who loves platforming, it is too much of an oversight to recommend this game to other platforming fans.

As far as the story goes, I was into it at first, but it uses a lot of tropes time travel to stone age, witty pop culture references, apocalypse robot take over, etc... and doesn't take itself seriously enough for me to take it seriously. A story needs to walk the fine line of humor and seriousness in order to achieve immersion.

Finally, anyone who has played a platformer knows that it needs to flow well. Any section that slows you down or forces you to wait, which this game has plenty of, simply makes the player antsy and bored. It can have its place, but in small doses. This game uses way to many waiting sections and auto-scrolling sections.

2/5. There was something there, but I missed it. So close to being a lovable game but the softlock on chapter 12 really did me in. In one of the rooms, you can find a door that has a electric wall and a pool of water in a pit. Across said pit is a door. I used my only free hit to jump over the water and through the electric fence to get into the door. When in the door, there was nowhere to go (missing mechanic perhaps?) and dying on either side brought me to the door that lead nowhere on either side without a free hit.. Worth mentioning that there seemed to be a huge gap in difficulty in some sections. One moment I'm jumping over 'goombas' and in the next I'm dodging 'meat-boy' saws on ground that doesn't let me stand still.

That's just my opinion though. Check out some of the others before you buy I suppose.
