This game really has come a long way since I first picked it up to play with my buddy (great multiplayer game even in its early state).

To get the elephant out of the room yes it dose feel a bit like a 3d version of factoria but that's doing both game a disservice.

Sat feels more chill and zen/puzzle like then Fac ever did. It feels like Factoria and Subnatica had a baby but it was chiller then either parent. I think I get the subnatica vibes from its rich alien world that full of strange flora and fauna. Coupled with a compelling build system.

It also boasts a robust modding community, despite the fact that game updates can and do break bigger mods for a time. This is not to say that the devs don't care in-fact it seems they go out of there way to help foster mods for there game. But they also want to improve their game and sometimes that means big changes. They do put out exerimental updates and such so savy modders usually know what to expect.

Lastly, about the dev team. If you don't already know coffee stain studio you should stop whatever your doing right now and look them up. It's ok I can wait...

Are you back yet? Yeah they make/produce all those games. That cool indy title you saw someone stream the other day? They probably are working on that too. It might just be me but it seems that every game I have been playing and loving they have some sort of hand in it. This is all to say if I see a Coffee stain Studio game on early access I know that I will probably rack far too many hours on it and I never worry about it being some cash grab or abandon ware. These guys are the real deal.
