Early Access Review
NOTE: Currently Space Engineers 2 is a bare bones thing. You can't really call it a game, it's more of a tech demo. There's a long road ahead of iterative vertical slices improvement. You are basically paying to play an Alpha version. But KEEN has been very up front about this, so take everything in the review section with a grain of salt.

I have not played many hours yet, but I think 4 hours gives me a good idea of what's to come.

SE2 is going to be light years ahead of SE1 when all is said and done.

KEEN has definitely listened to the players, it is very obvious. Many of the things that players wanted, and indeed, created mods for in SE1, are coming to SE2. The large and small grid system has been unified, and with the even smaller detailing blocks, you will be able to create even better things. Better ships, better stations, better bases... If you loved the original Space Engineers for allowing you to express your creativity in so many ways, you will find as much and more in SE2.

So... would I recommend SE2, right now, to players? If you want to support KEEN, yes. If you want to play test, attempt to break, and generally just mess around in a fun, Adult lego, space sandbox game? Yes! If you are looking for a complete sandbox universe to build the solar system spanning empire of your dreams? Not yet.

Definitely keep an eye on this game, though. It's going places!

EDIT: Edited a few typos.

May 7th UPDATE
|=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=|

Sony backs down! Decides to forgo the update that would force PSN and Steam account linking. While I remain sceptical of Sony's intentions for the future of Helldivers 2, I will likely repurchase HD2 once the refund hits my bank account.

My negative review remains until those in regions where a PSN is illegal or has onerous requirements to create are able to buy the game once more.

The game is good and fun, I would recommend it for now.

REFUND REQUEST APPROVED

Request a refund, stand up to Sony and their BS.

So Arrowhead managed to iron out the kinks and bugs, and mission rewards were retroactively added. The game was playable again.

But...

A requirement to link your Steam account with a PSN account is now being enforced. By setting a stipulation in an agreement or contract, then ignoring that stipulation until is suits you, potentially breaks that agreement or contract. Your only choice is to agree to link a PSN account, or not play the game. They've changed things after you've paid money for, and you have no way to say No, and still play a game you paid money for.

If I could vote "not recommended" harder, I would. Don't buy this game, don't support SONY's greed.

Hard to recommend the game in it's current condition. It's fun, but right now the servers appear to be borked. No rewards for missions, and the AI for the enemies is not acting within the limitations you set. Easy means Hard right now.

Overall, I have found Starfield to be very fun so far. This is just a preliminary review, I'm hardly 9 hours in.

Pros: Combat can be as hard or as easy as you like, and it feels familiar, easy to get into, like slipping on a pair of your favourite gloves. The storyline has been generally fun so far, and like Skyrim, there are so many things that can distract you along the way. Do stop to explore everything.

Cons: The dialogue feels a little stiff, with the voice acting feeling a little flat. It's difficult to differentiate the different NPCs by anything other than their names and clothing, their personalities are lacking a bit of, well, personality.

Stellaris is a fantastic grand strategy game. If you enjoy sci-fi/sci-fantasy strategy games, you will find yourself suddenly realizing it's 4am in the morning, when the birds start chirping at you.

Definitely worth the price of admission for the base game. Whether you want to support their DLC model is up to you, but the base game can stand on its own.

Early Access Review
The first thing I would say about this game is that for an early access game, it plays very well. For a game that has a lot of things going in it, it runs very smoothly. There is some FPS loss, but that's to be expected.

This game is very much like a 3rd person Satisfactory on a galactic scale. There is a well laid out tech tree, lots of resources to collect, and many, many things to construct. Only about 17 hours in, and I am enjoy the heck out of this game.

Alright, so I have over 270 hours on this game. And I have to say that it has been entirely fantastic.

The story quests are fun, and are both frustratingly hard and ridiculously easy at times.

But the thing that makes the game for me is the wide open game, with more planets and stuff to explore than you have time in your life to complete.

Definitely worth the money I paid.

I've had this game for a while now, and so I have decided to rate it.

Many have said that the game does not offer much in the way of new things: mechanics, content, etc.

Others say that it's too similar to Borderlands 2.

While it is unfortunate that 2K Australia was shut down before many DLC could be made, there is enough there to keep you busy for a modest amount of time. And like Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel has multiple playthroughs to do. The lootsplosion feeling from Borderlands 2 (and present in games like Diablo 3) carries on in this game, and it's always entertaining to see the strange and wonderful things that you find falling out of mobs, lockers and vending machines.

I liked the cryo weapons, the butt slam, and having Jack as the hero, for a time.

This game, along with the first two Borderlands games, will keep me busy until they release Borderlands 3.

GalCiv3 has everything you want in a space-based 4X game. Much of it is customizable: the size of the galaxy, density and frequency of stars, planets and so forth. You can create your own customizable race, reminiscent of Master of Orion 2, though not quite the same level of detail. The best part, I find, is designing your own ships. There are plenty of premade ships that will appear in the list as you gain the technology to field them. But you also have the choice of constructing a ship out of parts, adding in the equipment you desire, and building those.

And it has the same glaring bug that all good 4X games have (Civ, Endless Space, Warlock...), it's around turn 300 or so that you find it's 3am in the morning and you should go to bed.

But... one more turn.

Man, I can't believe I didn't write a review for this game. I can't say it enough, this game is hilarious fun. With many 'WTF did they just say?' laughs, with many explosions to walk away from, mind you don't step in the meat loot chunks.

Probably the most fun you could have with three friends while keeping your pants on.

Hilariously crude, rude and lewd. Rocking good fun. :)
