A fun twin-stick space explotation action-RPG, reminiscent of Starscape or Escape Velocity (or one of its many descendants).

The dog-fighting is tactical enough without ever demanding too much, with considered positioning and facing mattering more than twitch reflexes.

The ship-building allows for plenty of expressiveness without insisting you min-max every aspect of your build.

The story is intriguing and delivered cleverly, handing out breadcrumbs of clues that will let you make minor leaps of logic before those are confirmed or dashed as the narrative progresses.

I'm 20 hours in and far from done, but I've seen enough to know this is well worth giving a shot to anyone interested.

An extremely satisfying tactical puzzle game, arriving at a delightful mid-point between the modern XCOM games, Into The Breach and Doorkickers. The tight and rewarding gameplay loop is married to Tom Francis' endlessly amusing dialogue and world building, all wrapped in a genuinely compelling narrative.

If you look at the words "Tactical Breach Wizards" and feel a gentle tingle in your brain, this game will deliver on exactly the promise of that feeling.

Sonic's Social Media Team deserves a raise.

Also please make more Sonic games like this.

This game is far from perfect, but it near perfectly captures the essence of BattleTech. If you have any affection for BattleTech this is a game you have to play.

If you're not a big fan of BattleTech, but enjoy games like XCOM, Into the Breach, or turn-based strategy games in general, then you should definitely give this a shot.

Such a shame to see what could have been a truly incredible game laid low on PC by a clearly console focused development.

The UI is a shambles on Mouse and Keyboard, every option requiring you to hold a key or mouse button for a second just to make extra sure you really wanted to click it. That the menus swim around behind your cursor in an almost nauseating way just adds to a truly horrible experience in the menus.

And you'll be spending quite a bit of time in the menus trying to work out why the game is running so badly, with a full (and very lengthy) restart required between each change of settings.

A real disappointment.

The purest expression of same-screen competetive gaming I have ever had the pleasure to experience, and at an amazingly low price.

The single player is fine as a tutorial, and the online play is surprisingly excellent, but this is best played mano-a-mano in the same room.

Expletives will be hurled, controllers will be crushed, cries of joy will be cut short. As balletic as it is vicious, Nidhogg perfectly captures and distills the very essence of the fighting game genre.
