Full disclosure, I'm friends with one of the voice actors who worked on this project.

I didn't like this game. But I dislike all rogue-likes or rogue-lites or whatever the hell they're calling them now. I firmly believe rogue-like developers do so because building a game with a standard difficulty curve is too hard. So they make players play the same levels over and over again (instead of having an actual wealth of content), and implement a difficulty curve that's a smooth, straight line until it shoots upward at a near 90-degree angle like you're slamming into a brick wall.

And your reward for the 30-60 minutes of your life? You might see a number tick up by one. But no ACTUAL progress, just the SENSATION of it. And then you get to slam into a brick wall again. This is not fun. This is frustrating. I don't understand how ANYONE enjoys this kind of game. But sadly, enough people (masochistic people, I have to assume) enjoy this kind of thing enough so that game devs with budgets large enough to hire people as talented as the voice actors in this game get their game made, and now I have to try and play it out of misguided loyalty.

To be fair, Angry Mob Games tries to alleviate some frustration by implementing "Hyper Mode" which gradually ups your damage resistance every time you die - but again, it's watching a number tick up, and you won't really notice the difference. I didn't. This is a halfway measure. If Angry Mob Games was really serious, they would let us set that number to whatever we want.

This game is not for me. It might be for you. If it is, I will never understand you.

Danganronpa is the best murder mystery game series ever created, and Danganronpa 2 has the best characters in the series. It IS a visual novel, so be prepared for a lot of reading, but no other game series has ever made me feel like I was solving a murder - not the main character, but ME - and the EUREKA moment when the pieces fell into place in my brain was euphoric as hell.

It's not the same as the other Danganronpa games, there isn't any murder-solving, and I'd say it's even darker than the other games in terms of story, but the gameplay is a fun mix of 3rd-person-shooter and puzzle-solving, and the story is intriguing enough to make me want to finish it.

I love this game. It is the only game I can think of that requires the PLAYER to solve murders. There have been loads of murder-mystery adventures, but in those, the protagonist usually does all of the heavy lifting. In Danganronpa, if you can't make the logical connections to get to the bottom of each and every murder, you will fail. I wish there were more games like it. The sequels are EVEN BETTER.

Maybe not the best Fallout, but certainly good enough to keep me entertained for 200+ hours.

Do not get attached to any of the characters. Save at every opportunity. Do not expect too much from the plot, but enjoy the banter. Surprises await.

Action-adventure, light on the action, heavy on the inventory puzzles and story, and speaking of, some intriguing stuff here. Curious to see how it continues in eps 2 and 3, but for now, episode 1 was well worth the purchase price.

I screamed like an 8-year-old girl. It was the screamiest scream I have ever screamed.

10/10 would scream again.

This game had some promise - the controls were solid, and the gameplay, while not very fun, was at least technically competent. And the level design shows no small amount of forethought and planning. Despite some terrible acting and even worse translation issues, I was planning on giving it a hesitant thumbs up - right up until the last hour of the game, which is when it just completely ♥♥♥♥♥ itself inside out, with a sudden change in playstyle, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemy mechanics, and the lamest plot twist this side of an M. Night Shyamalan movie. I got this game for free, so I can't ask for my money back, but I wish I had my time back so I could spend it playing something better than this.

Completely sublime, this is unquestionably the best Mass Effect game of the trilogy. It has the tightest gameplay, a thrilling and horrifying story, and some truly difficult choices to make. Close to perfect.
